Re: Difference between CSIR and UGC-NET examination?

Difference between UGC NET and CSIR NET : There are following factors which need to be considered.

Exam Convener Institutes: Both the exam are convener by the different institute.

UGC NET exam is conducted by the University of grant commission but now this exam is conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Examination)
If we talked by the CSIR NET Exam this exam is conducted by the HRDG (Human Resource Development Group) of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research.
2. Different with respect to paper pattern:

UGC NET:

No. of paper: 3

General Paper 1
Paper 2 Paper 3

Both the Paper 2 and 3 is based on the subject you choose. and General paper 1 is common for all the aspirants.

Negative Marking: No
Time Required: 5 hrs
Total Marks: 350

CSIR NET:

No. of paper: 1

Paper is divided into three parts. Part A common for all the aspirants and Part B & C is based on the subject you taken.

Negative Marking: Yes
Time Required: 3 hrs
Total Marks: 200

3. Difference between the subjects:

No. of Subjects in UGC NET: 99
No. of subjects in CSIR NET: 5

4. Eligibility difference in both the exam:

UGC NET Eligibility: PG required in any subjects

CSIR NET Eligibility: PG required in science subjects

5. CSIR NET Scopes:

UGC NET qualified students works in the NET Coordinate institute.
CSIR NET qualified student works in the Research Laboratories.

Selection Process:

The selection process of both the exam is quite similar. In both the exam you need to qualify a written test. The cutoff may vary.

Difference Between JRF and LS(Lectureship) NET:

JRF Position in Indian universities, labs, R&D institutes is provided to young(below 28 years) research scholars.

Work profile of JRF states that he/she has to work under a guide/professor/researcher on specific project.

The tenure is 2 years, which is extensible for 1 year.

Career progression:

JRF can be upgraded as SRF(Senior research fellow). CSIR Lateral Senior Research Fellowship 2017

Lectureship(LS) NET is for the recruitment of eligible candidates for professorship (No age limit)

This Job opportunity doesn’t come with 2 or three year tenure. lecturers enjoy the benefit of government/central job till their retirement.

JRF Job opportunities:

Dear Friend,

National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination conducted in our country for postgraduate candidates who wants to pursue for admission in PhD research and/or university level teaching jobs in India.

For the humanities and art discipline it is administered by the University Grants Commission (referred to as "UGC NET") while for the science and engineering discipline it is jointly conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC).

Hi friend,
The difference is
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the Joint CSIR UGC NET in the field of Science which includes Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the UGC.

It is a national level entrance examination for postgraduate candidates of science and engineering discipline who wish to qualify for admission in PhD research and/or university level teaching jobs in the country.

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.

The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

Re: Difference between CSIR and UGC-NET examination?

Basically there is no difference between CSIR NET and UGC NET as both are coming under same roof i.e. UGC for selection of Lectureship and award of JRF(Junior Research Fellowship).

CSIR NET-COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducts exam on only Science subjects such as:-

MATHEMATICAL SCIENCE
EARTH SCIENCE
CHEMICAL SCIENCE
LIFE SCIENCE
PHYSICAL SCIENCE

UGC NET-UNIVERSITY GRANT COMMISSION NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducts exam on the rest of the subjects along with other Science subjects.

The candidate should be a Post Graduate securing at least 55% marks and should not be bellow 17 years, is eligible to apply for the above NET exam. There is no upper age bar for those applying for Lectureship but those applying for JRF should not be above 28 years of age.

Re: Difference between CSIR and UGC-NET examination?

Hi

According to your Query both MCA and B.E are their own importance.

Both are similar. That is Both are related to software field.

But B.E is better than MCA.

B.E is one of the graduation course. The duration of this course is 4 years.
The minimum eligibility criteria to get the admission in B.E is you have to complete your 10+2 in any recognized board.

MCA (Master in computer application)is one of the post graduation course. The duration of this course is 3 years.

The minimum eligibility to get the admission in MCA is you have to complete your graduation with 50% of marks in nay recognized university.

After completion of B.E you can go for Higher studies namely MBA/M.Tech.
After completion of MBA/M.Tech you have the better opportunities for that.

So its better to go for B.E.

All d best....
