Re: Difference between B.Sc(biotechnology) and B.Tech(biotechnology)?

To get a btech degree one has to give the engineering entrance exam like IIT, AIEEE and various other state level entrance exam for engineering.

But to study B.Sc degree you have to apply in the science colleges for UG in India.
Admission process differs from one college to the other.
While some will ask you to apply online and wait for the merit list to come out, other top level colleges can also ask you to give an entrance exam for the limited seats available.

Also there is going to be some difference in the syllabus as well.

I will suggest you to go through the syllabus of both the courses that I have uploaded here for more information.

Hope this helps

Btech as compared to Bsc. biotechnology will provide more technical knowledge.

Scope wise Btech biotech definitely provides more job opportunities but its duration is 4 years while that of Bsc is 3 years

So it depends on your priorities also.

The subjects will be -

Physics
Mathematics
Inorganic Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Biology
Biotechnology
Physical Chemistry
Molecular Biophysics
Biochemistry
Cell Biology
Biostatistics
Anatomy
Microbiology
Molecular Biology
Human Physiology
Genetics
Biomedical Engineering
Plant Biology
Plant Biotechnology
Microbial Biotechnology
Microbial techiques

If you really cant choose between two then I suggest you to read out the subjects and their respective syllabus and then choose with respect to your interest and skills.

salary in b.tech will be more as compared to bsc in biotechnology.
B.tech requires high level of study and its a professional course while bsc is a regular course.

Re: Difference between B.Sc(biotechnology) and B.Tech(biotechnology)?

A B.Sc course is basically for a total duration of 3 years but a B.Tech degree is for 4 years. B.Sc degree provides only basic knowledge in the stream. B.Tech gives an indepth knowledge. Hence in terms of valuation B.Tech is valued higher. Also for admission in B.Tech course there will certainly be an entrance exam which mostly is not there for the B.Sc course.
