Dear Friend The no. of candidates selected in Engineering Services Examination or any other examination for government jobs doesn't select some fixed no. of candidates every year. The number of selected candidates depends on the vacancy present in the various departments for which the recruitment process is conducted. I am mentioning here the past few year selection details. But it is very difficult to forecast the numbers of candidates to be selected in upcoming years by looking at previous years' trends. IES-2010; Electrical Engineering Stream. 102 candidates were selected finally. IES-2009; Electrical Engineering Stream. 59 candidates were selected finally. IES-2008; Electrical Engineering Stream. 53-56 candidates were selected finally. The no. of seats has been increasing in EE stream of IES from last three years but it can increase/decline in the coming year. e.g. look at the result of ME/CE stream. IES-2010; Mechanical Engineering Stream. 134 candidates were selected finally. IES-2009; Mechanical Engineering Stream. 130 candidates were selected finally. IES-2008; Mechanical Engineering Stream. Around 160 candidates were selected finally. IES-2010; Civil Engineering Stream. 178 candidates were selected finally. IES-2009; Civil Engineering Stream. 205 candidates were selected finally. IES-2008; Civil Engineering Stream. Around 125 candidates were selected finally. |
