go for NDA entrance exam.
ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA FOR NDA IS AS

Hi

If you have to join the IAF, I would prefer the NDA. This is because there are many types of programs which the NDA offers for graduation of the selected candidates.

So it is as if your whole responsibility is on them that they would get you educated enough for their operations and purposes.
Also I suggested this because after post graduation not many posts are vacant and so they recruit on the basis of the vacancies.

NDA - National Defense Academy.

This is basically an entrance which is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year in the month of April and August to select candidates for the various posts in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

Basic Eligibility Says that you should be an unmarried male Indian. The age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.
Also you should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school.
Physics and Maths are very compulsory for IAF and Navy.
Physical Fitness is also equally important.

Now the entries for this year are already over. So if you have the age limits and lie within that only you can apply next year also.

Hope this helps

All the best

HI,
If you have chance after 12th then you can apply for Indian Air Fore.
After 12th you have to qualify the N.D.A exam.

If you want to apply after engineering then no problem you can apply after that.
For this you have to qualify the C.D.S exam

N.D.A and C.D.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C.

You main target to join Indian Air Force. There is no problem if you join After passing 12th or After engineering.

Re: Is it better to join IAF after 12th through NDA or PG in any engineering field?

here is way out... if you are in class 12th and aged between 16.5 to 18 years then appear for the NDA if selected, then you can be an officer in 3 years but if you miss the opertunity then go ahead and complete your PG and go again for the defence service exams, in between you can appear after completing your graduation in OTs courses.

So keep on trying may be you may successed on the way.. or for the best you can get in on the first attempt... remember you can still pursue your studies even after joining our esteemed armed force.

Best of luck...
