And Due to the onset of World War II, the games were not held again until 1950. The star of the games was the Australian athlete Decima Norman, who won five gold medals in track and field. |

Re: In which country was 3rd commonwealth game? Dear friend , The 3rd Commonwealth games were successfully held in Sydney in Australia. It was started on 5th February to 12th February in the year 1938. At that time India gained 2nd position after Australia. |

Margaret Dovey, the future wife of the former Australian prime minister Gough Whitlam, finished sixth in the 200 yards breaststroke. |
