Re: How can I prepare for IES entrance exam? Dear pal, aspirants are admitted to Indian engineering service by the union public service commission. The eligibility being bachelor degree in the engineering field from a recognised university. The aspirants are admitted to the service under the following category namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical , and electronics and telecommunication. It is not that other discipline aspirant can apply but the exam includes question on these disciplines only. The exam includes those which are studied by the aspirant in their bachelor degree and includes those subjects. So you need to have studied well during your degree course . If not prepare now. Refer previous year question papers which will support you in the preparation process. And aspirants of above category can prepare for the exam easily when compared to the others. The syllabus is somewhat similar to the gate paper and those who have appeared in gate can perform well |

You can follow your text books, you can solve all the previous years question paper of IES. However, you can take coaching for the best preparation of the entrance exam. The reference books for the IES exam are: G.K Publication's IES guide, Gennius Publication's IES guide.....etc |

Hi IES stands for the Indian Engineering Services and it is an entrance exam conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year to select candidates for the Various Engineering Services in the Indian Government Sector Companies. This is one of the most competitive and toughest exams in India. It is said that the best start to start preparing for the IES is from the third year onwards. Whichever stream you are studying, but you must be from a B.E/B.Tech background. If not you are not eligible to sit for the IES exam. The various streams are : 1. Electronics and Communication 2. Electrical 3. Mechanical 4. Civil Now my first suggestion would be that you should join some coaching so that you get to know the complete details of the IES exam, pattern, etc. You can also do it yourself, but for that you would need a huge dedication and determination. You also have to cope up with your regular studies along with the preparations. Re: How can I prepare for IES entrance exam? This is one of the most competitive examinations which are conducted by the UPSC. You need to prepare thoroughly for getting high score in the exam. You can join some coaching institutes for getting prepared for the exams. Time management is an important skill required in this exam. You should prepare for the difficult portions first and then the easy portions. The candidates should practice sufficient problems by using the previous year question papers. |
