Re: What are the requirements to attend for IPS Exam? you should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. -For the candidates with Physical Disabilities, relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years.Number of attempts : -The maximum number of attempts for the candidates of General category are 4. -Candidates of OBC category can appear for this exam for a maximum of 7 times. -There is no limit on the number of attempts for the candidates of SC/ST category. Re: What are the requirements to attend for IPS Exam? Hi For IAS/IPS, you will need to write the civil service exam conducted by UPSC. The minimum academic qualification required to write the exam is a bachelor's of degree from a recognised university. You should have attained the age of 21 years and should not be over 30 years. (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC) The application form is available in the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices after the notification by UPSC. The advertisement for the same will be published in all leading newspapers including Employment News. |

Re: What are the requirements to attend for IPS Exam? Hai... Requirements for IPS, one has to crack civil services examination being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. Qualification requirements for IPS exam: The candidate need to completed degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. Final year of degree course candidates are eligible to apply for this examination. The candidate age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years. 33 years relaxation is given to the Other Backward category. 35 years relaxation is given to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes category. 4 attempts are common to the all the candidates. 7 attempts for OBC category and No limits for SC/ ST category. |

Academic Qualification : -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. -Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to appear for this exam. IPS exam can be taken after graduation and minimum eligibility criteria for IPS exam is: Age limit 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . .Number of Attempts Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. Minimum Physical Standard The physical standards are important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc. I shall give a detailed a/c of this sometime. For IPS- Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. |
