Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Hi

Admission to M.tech colleges are through GATE exams only.
The better you score, the better college you get for M.Tech

following are the eligibility for appearing for GATE

He/ She should be a Bachelor degree holder in Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2)/ Engineering/ Post B.Sc. / Post diploma

Master of Computer application and those who are in the final year of such programmes.

Master degree holders in any division of Science/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Computer Applications or correspondent and those who are in the Final year or Pre-final year students are not qualified.

-
since nothing has been mentioned about the btech marks, you can appear for GATE

Following are the top MBA colleges, you would like to target

1. IIT Bombay, India
2. IIT Kanpur, India
3. IIT Delhi, India
4. BITS, Pilani University, India
5. IIT Kharagpur, , India
6. IIT Madras, India
7. IIT Varanasi (ex-IT BHU), India
8. IIIT Allahabad, India
9. IIT Guwahati, India
10. ISM Dhanbad, India
11. College of Eng., Anna University, Guindy, India
12. NIT- National Institute of Technology, Waranga, India
13. New IITs, India

All the best

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

HI

its always advisable and beneficial to do M.Tech from top institute to have better career and pay. Best M.Tech institute are IITs followed by NIT. Dont go for any other colleges as you are doing M.Tech to improve your career and add value to you and not to just add a point on CV
You need to appear for GATE.

All the best

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Yes....
IIT kanpur is asking for 55% in graduation.
IIT Ghandhinagar and IIT Mandi also asking 55%.
IISc banglore is asking 55% in graduation.
NSIT Delhi ,ISI kolkata etc.
but You have to score really very good in GATE atleast 500 AIR to get these colleges.

One more thing is that there is only one criteria for appearing for gate.

Graduation in respective branches.

Don't listen all other fools who is giving foolish advise not to think of MTech.

I have also got 57.57 % in graduation from Pune University. But score 1900 AIR in GATE.

Thanks

Hello,
Well M.Tech admission opens mostly for those candidates who get 60% or more in their B.Tech and also in their prior master degree, if they have any. So with 59%, it will be difficult, for you to get it in M.Tech. course. So my suggestion will be to go for MCA course. This course can be done with less than 60% in graduation. Also this caters to the IT industry better than M.Tech. M.Tech does not have that much appeal in IT industries. Since you have done B.Tech., so I take this for a fact that, you want to go to corporate sectors. Then MCA will be a great choice for you. try to do MCA from private institutes, so that you get better chances at campus placements.

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Hello Friend,

Yes, you can get admission in MTech course of top engineering college even with less than 60 % marks in BTech.

Most institutes admit students into their MTech course on the basis of performance in GATE

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE :
Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

There is no cut off percentage in GATE. You just need to have a BTech degree from a recognised university.

Thank You!

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

hi friends,

You won't get the chance to study in IITs as in IITs,the criteria for admission in M.Tech program is to have at least 60% marks in B.Tech.

So you have to try institutions other than IITs. There are different private or Govt undertaken universities which conduct their own entrance exams for admission in M.Tech.

Better you try those institutes ..don't worry you will get a good institute for higher studies.

thanks

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

hi,
As you have scored less than 60% in B.Tech,so,it's difficult to get a chance in Govt.college for M.Tech.
But you can get a chance in private college for M.Tech.
so,dont worry..

thanks...

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

hii dear..
As far as i know for IITs you need minimum 60% to be eligible for admission. Some take through CGPA but you dont need to worry. There are some colleges private ones who take admission with 50% in graduation. So just try to make a search of them

I just saw NSIT website. They mentioned that a pass percentage is required to get admission to MTech. So you may get into MTech if not through gate by direct admission or by other private exam,,,
good luck..
thank you

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Dear friend,
if you are interested in doing m.tech you passed in b.tech is enough. Every university or colleges conduct entrance test for the P.G cources, if you qulify in that exams you will do m.tech in that colleges. Through management quota also you wii admit in P.G cources. But according to me if you apply and qulify in gate you will admit in iit,nit or university colleges and you will get stiphend also
so choose the option as you best

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Its difficult to get admission in M.Tech having below 59%.
even you are not eligible for GATE also.
But some colleges which are not highly reputed they give admission above 50%.
So you may search for these colleges..
Example:

Marudhar Engineering college,Bikaner
affiliated with Rajasthan Tech university.

Hi friend,
There are some Universities providing M.Tech for less than 60% marks. Also they are keeping entrance exam ,and they are taking that cut-off marks. So,you don;t need to worry about marks.
You can join in any of the colleges through entrance in councelling.

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

dear friend,
For M.tech admission you have to score well in GATE ...
As you have 59% aggregate in B.tech then it will not create any problem for taking admission in M.tech..
The only requirement is you have to score above the cut-off marks then you can take admission in M.tech.. for getting good college you have to score well in GATE..
so, don't worry, just prepare for GATE...
work hard , I am sure that you will definitely clear GATE exam at the first attempt..

Best wishes..

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

Do it Mtech if you are interested to go in teaching field and .
you will try to score good percentile in GATE exam ..
because this exam is a gateway to enter in a good college ..some colleges see
only GATE percentile
so prepare hard for GATE exam .
take care of MATH,ENGLISH .
these part are easy to score .
good luck

Re: Mtech admission with less than 60% aggregate in Btech?

I think you should go for GATE as there are no such cut-off marks required for GATE. If you do well in GATE then you can admit into good M.tech colleges across India. But don't try for IIT as IIT wants 60% in btech for admission into mtech.

Otherwise if you don't want to appear for GATE then try for private colleges as they don't require any cut-off marks.
