Re: Can a Hotel Management Student appear for IAS exam? If your college is approved by Govt. of India and your degree is equivalent to graduation of master degree then you are eligible for sure. You fulfill the age criteria too. One's age should be 21 years as on 1st AUG 2011. Last date for receipt of application is 21-03-2011. The date of Preliminary exam 12-06-2011. HI, well you can appear for IAS exam.The minimum criteria is a degree certificate from any renown colleges and the age limit is between 21-30.Therefore try to get good grades at least above 60% at your present course and just stay mentally and physically fit and prepare for it.you can get through it. Now, I am pursuing Hotel management. it is the govt. and degree college and I am final year student. my (DOB) is 17 July 1990 which subject is better for me to give the IAS exam help me plzzzzzz |

ELIGIBILITY for IAS officer: 1)A pass in a degree from any University, 2)For IAS and IPS the candidate must be a citizen of India, 3)For other services a candidate can be either a citizen of India,a subject of Nepal,a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetian refugee AGE LIMIT 1)21 years must be completed by the 1st AUGUST of that year, 2)GENERAL-30,OBC-33,SC/ST-35;EX-SERVICEMEN WILL GET 5 YEARS EXEMPTION ATTEMPTS OPEN-4,OBC-7,SC/ST-NO LIMIT So you can give the exam after completing the Hotel management degree. |

Re: Can a Hotel Management Student appear for IAS exam? Graduation from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IAS. He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination. if your university is recognized by government and if you are pursuing graduation then after completion of your graduation you will be able to appear in IAS examination. any graduate student may appear in the IAS examination irrespective of the subject of study. your age also fulfill the criterion. so you may appear in IAS examination in this year also. best wishes. |

The information provided by you is not enough to say whether you are elligible for appearing in IAS exam or not. for appearing in IAS you must fulfill the following criteria : (1)age between 21-30 as on 1 st aug 2011 (2)must be a citizen of india (3)degree equivalent to master of graduation. if your college is approved by government of india and you are fulfilling the criteria then you are elligible. the cost of IAS form is rs 100 and can be obtained from the post office. for latest news about this exam please visit -http://www.upsc.gov.in or employment news regularly. |

Re: Can a Hotel Management Student appear for IAS exam? the minimum eligibility for Civil Service exam is Graduation from a govt. recognized university. so you can give this exam. if you belong to general category then please give exam when you are fully prepared because for general there are only 4 attempts. |
