The NET stands for National Eligiblity Test. This exam is conducted by UGC twice in a year.

SYLLABUS OF THE TEST

The question paper shall be divided into three parts, (A,B & C) as per syllabus & Scheme of Exam.

# Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall contain questions pertaining to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude.

# Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus.

# Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem.

# A negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be applicable as per scheme of Exam.

Syllabus & Scheme of Exam of single Paper is given in the Information Bulletin for this test at Annexure „A‟ and may also be seen at CSIR website: www.csirhrdg.res.in.

UGC conduct the NET exam for JRF and LECTURERSHIP .

Notification:-UGC NET exam held twice a year, in the months of June and
December. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of March and September In Employment News and ugc website also.

To Apply:-you can apply online only on the UGC website--

Eligibility:- Post graduation in any subject with 55% from any
recognised university.

Age limit:- For jrf age is maximum 28 year and there is no upper age limit
for lecturership.

Final year Post graduate candidates are also apply for NET Examination.

You have to choose the subjects in NET on the basis of your Post graduation.

For Example : If you have completed your Post graduate degree course in Management, then you have to choose Management Subject in NET.

The syllabus of NET Examination is availiable in the official website.

In NET Examination, there will be 3 papers. 1st paper is common for all the candidates and the paper will be objective.

All the papers in NET will be Objective type from this year Onward's. There is no descriptive papers in NET Examination.

In 1st paper you will get 60 question out of which 50 questions are to be attempted, the duration of the paper is 1¼ Hours.

In 2nd paper, you will get 50 question and all are compulsory, the duration of the paper is 1¼ Hours.

In 3rs paper, you will get 75 questions of 2 marks each and you have to attempted all the questions, The duration of the paper is 2½ Hours.
