Respected Sir, My name is Arnab Kr dey i am Final year student of mechanical engineering in Asansol Engineering College under (WBUT) which is located in west bengal. So I am very interested to take as a training as a engine cadet of merchant ships. My elligibility criteria is 10th board 69% 12th board overall 64% and CGPA of btech is 6.64 upto 3rd year. So i want to know that can i take this training about engine cadet for any Institution. If yes then Please listed to me those institution where I can take this traning esaily. |

Re: How to make entry into Merchant Navy having completed B.Tech in Electrical Engineering? have completed my mechanical engineering frm a reputed institution in karnataka. . . presently i'm workin in a software company since 4 months , i don find job satisfaction in IT field since my dream is to join navy . . . in this company i'm jus workin for money so dat i can undergo trainin for navy witout gettin financial help from my parents . . . can i know names of some good institutes for undergoing d trainin , possible expenditure of dis trainin n salary package once vr placed in merchent navy !! |

Dear friend you can directly join the Merchant navy as a Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer Electrical Training Officer This 4 pre-sea course imparts comprehensive training in shipboard practice. It comprises of academics and ship familiarization along with Marine Workshop training (as per IMO modules). Then the candidate will sail as a Engine Cadet with stipend. On a training programme lasting approximately 4 months. Working to gain sea time. Receives structured training and experience on board.
