dear friend,

obviously u will get jobs through gate exam.If u have good gate qualified score then you directly called for interview in the companies like IOCL.

it is to be likely ONGC will recruiting through gate score.and you also can get JRF from various govt sectors by involving a project.

I m telling u a truth that most of the companies now decided to take employee through some standard skill test exam in these day because it reduces the cost of recruitment and save time for the companies. You can take example of IOCL where vacancies are direct through GATE exam in which mechanical student have higher demands and also BARC is another organisation which call for direct interview through GATE shortlisted student. So there r most of companies for mechanical who can hire form GATE.so try to obtained a good scotre in GATE 2011.

Best of luck

Well there are many jobs under PSU which take trainees...through GATE EXAM...but GATE exam is mainly for doing M.tech...A high GATE score can put you into a good job...but I suggest you do M.tech...you will have enough jobs...afterwards...

dear friend,

yes,you can certainly get job after doing GATE.

either you can get placed during placement drives in your final year of M.TECH.

or you can join different companies through off campus.

also you can join reputed engineering college as a lecturer as the minimum eligibility criteria for lecturer in many engineering college is M.tech.

good luck.

Dear friend
GATE score is only a way to get admission in master degree programs in various universities. It is not applicable in any private firm to recruit on the basis of GATE.
However, the Indian PSUs are offering job interviews without any written tests for GATE qualified students. And all of them recruit Mechanical Engineers. So you got chances there.
These companies are IOCL,ONGC,SAIL,NTPC,NMDC etc

Re: Jobs through GATE exam for mechanical engineering

Passing the GATE exam will not give you jobs. Once you clear the exam get admission in some reputed Colleges and by the time you complete your course you can get placements in MNCs.

Re: Jobs through GATE exam for mechanical engineering

hi friend,
Sorry boss , there is no job entrance through GATE exam rather it would give you better chance to show your technical skill to the company which will give you extra point for this.

You can add the GATE score in your CV or resume to show that you are sound in technical area.

Re: Jobs through GATE exam for mechanical engineering

Yes Gate exam is a very respectable one and you will get plenty of jobs...You just need to complete your M.tech from a good college...You can do research in various fields...or else you can also become professors or HODs in various engineering colleges...which has got a lot of respect in its field...

Good luck !!

Re: Jobs through GATE exam for mechanical engineering

If somebody has said to you that clearing GATE guarantees you a job, then that person is misleading you. The GATE Exam has got nothing to do with getting a job.

GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is actually an all-India examination to identify meritorious and motivated candidates for admission to Post Graduate Programmes in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy at the national level. Besides, GATE qualified candidates are eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories and CSIR-sponsored projects; some government organizations even prescribe GATE qualification as a MUST for applying to the post of a Scientist/Engineer.
