I wish you to be a good officer by an indian. you can apply for upsc exams. it consists of 18 departments like I.A.S, I.P.S, I.R.S, I.F.S...... After qualifying degree you are eligible for applying civil services. It consists of three steps those are 1.priliminary exam 2.main exam 3. personal interview After passing priminary exam you are eligible to apply main exam and after that passing main exam you are going for personal interview. |

Re: How to prepare for IPS exam? Procedure to become an IPS officer? IPS Exam Eligibility:- The basic eligibility requirement to appear in the IPS exam is to have a graduation degree. The candidate can be from any discipline of study. The age of the candidate must be above 21 years of age while appearing the preliminary exam. The age of the candidate must not be more than 30 years. The candidates who are in the final year can also appear in the IPS exam. As to get selected into the IPS a candidate must qualify two criterions. At first the candidate must be pass the IPS Civil service Exam. After this candidates must also pass in the physical test and also the interview. To get into the IPS, you will have to give the "UPSC held Civil Services Examination". It is a common exam for getting into the IAS, IPS etc. To succeed in the "Civil Services Examination" you first need to understand how the examination is conducted or the "examination format"! But, before we understand that, let get some "Frequently Asked Questions" out of the way…. to apply for the "Civil Services Exam"? The Application Procedure for the Civil Services Examination is pretty simple. The "Application Form" and "Information Brochure" can be obtained from the "Head Post Offices or Post Offices" throughout the country. The filled Application Form should be sent to: Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, New Delhi - 110011. |

Application: One is required to apply for the Civil Services exam as per the notification published by UPSC. Preliminary test or Civil Services Aptitude Test. This is the first stage of exam in which questions are objective type and it is common for students of all stream. Main Exam and Interview: On the basis of one's score in Preliminary exam, one is called for Main Exam and on the basis of score in Main Exam candidates are called for Interview. The sum of marks of Main Exam and Interview becomes the final score for merit list or All India Rank. (Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of Current events. History Geography Indian Polity and governance Economic and social development and General science. (Paper II) (200 marks) Comprehension Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy(Class X level) English language comprehension skills (Class X level) so make preparation of these subjects and apply for UPSC exam Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you. In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt. |

If you will prepare all the topics given below then it would be easy for you to clear the exam. Syllabus of the preliminary papers The Preliminary Examination shall now comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each and of two hours duration each. Detailed below is the new syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination, which is brought to the notice of the prospective candidates intending to appear at the Civil Services Examination (CSE) in 2011 onwards: Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours • Current events of national and international importance • History of India and Indian National Movement • Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World. • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. • Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization • General Science. Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours • Comprehension • Interpersonal skills including communication skills; • Logical reasoning and analytical ability • Decision making and problem solving • General mental ability • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level) • English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level). • Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. And for the preparation you can buy some books contain above topics and start reading newspapers and journals for the current affairs and general knowledge. |

Procedure to become an IPS officer? to prepare for IPS exam you can join any reputed coaching centre for IPS exam and do the study there that will be really helpful in guiding you properly in the right path ......... to become an IPS officer you have to fill the application form of UPSC for the exam from the head post office of your city and then you have to be selected in that exam then only you can become an IPS officer |

It is a must that you have clean record in terms of no criminal or any cases against you in the court of law. You will need to clear the entrance exam. First you need to appear for the prelims. Then there is a mains exams and finally an interview.You need to clear each level to go for the next level in exams. This exam is conducted by UPSC. you need to select the subjects based on what your area of interest. |
