Re: Advertising field after engineering? i have done b.tech in computers and have two years of work experience in IT industry. But i am just not satisfied with my job. I am interested in advertising. I am planning to go for post graduate diploma from IIMC delhi. Please tell me if I am making the right move. What is the average salary in this field. |

Hi dear good 1stly i will like to appreciate you for your post and the entire details mentioned in it which gives a broad idea about what you think and what are your prefences and by will what you want to do ,,, dear friend i will also like to share a few words form my mind with you as i have encountered such a good and descriptive and a ques which is very close to my thoughts too... so advertising is a field for the people who have a creativity of their own and they look towards things differently and are very innovative and out of the league,,, i didnt mean this field is for extraordinary people or for freaks but for people with lots of potential as they have to explain a product by different ways either by speaking or by just remaining dumb i think you have figured out some depths in this field so you are so keen and intrested in it ,, my best wishes are with you and in my openion you need not to worry and should convince your parents and from now on develop a ability to convince 1 and all because the field you want to get in neeeds confidence as well as convincing ability. so i hope you have both of them and so you need not have to worry at all,, and for further studies you can definitely go for MBA which will certainly add stars to your career and you will be among the advertising guru's,, all the very best to you and good luck for your future.... Re: Advertising field after engineering? Yes you can be very successful in the field of advertising as your interest lies in it and take my suggestion,after training or get some experience then go for MBA ,tht will get you to new heights and u will be established like a big entrepreneur !! |

Dear friend, first of all i would like to tell you that-choose subject of your interest,you will definetely get success . advertisement field is very promosing field as salary is good here.and as you said it doesn't depend upon market because in any condition ,the company will need advertisement. so,there is nothing to worry about. just go for it. |

Yes you should make your career in Advertising and just complete your MBA and as you have B.E./B.tech. degree in hand ,it will be of extreme help..take an example as if you let us consider Infosys,to do the advertising of their latest software ,they will mention all the technicalities involved in that software and advantage is this, that you are an engineer ,as you are also well versed with the knowledge so you can be a great asset to a company,just convince your family and get MBA in a reputed college and you will surely scale greater heights.All the Best. |

Re: Advertising field after engineering? HI! I am sorry to say but if you were not interested then you did engineering wasting your 4 precious years & lots of money. Anyways where there is a will there is a way. You can off course do diploma in advertising. An MBA in advertising is perhaps a good option. Some of the best institutes for advertising are in Delhi & Mumbai. |

Re: Advertising field after engineering? it is a very good and appropriate decision for you. advertisement have a very good opportunity to explore your internal knowledge also. you have done MBA on marketinf and financial management. it will give you a very big opportunity to get job in any advertising agency. the salary and scope is very much good. so it's a very good decision taken by you. i wish a very successful life in this field. |

This is such a course which can assure you to boost up fine opportunities in the professional communication and crafting market. You can join as client servicing manager, event marketing manager and social advertising campaigner etc. For this career you can start with taking up some courses like diploma or PG diploma courses on advertising from renowned institutes. good luck |

Re: Advertising field after engineering? Advertising is a great idea any day for those who have interest in it.. There is no need for you or your parents to feel insecure about it specially with a qualification in engineering behind you. And if you get to do MBA in marketing/advertising in a good college there is nothing better than that. To tell you the truth even i belong to the same situation. I have finished my B.Tech this year and am interested in the field of advertising. Therefore am looking to get in some good B-School next year in the marketing discipline. The best B-School for this field is Mudra Institute of Communications-Ahmedabad. Do remain in touch so that we can exchange any information. By the way great to know someone who share similar interests.

Advertising field after engineering? Im doing my B.E but I just dont find myself happy.Im more facinated by advertisments and have always wanted to be a part of it.So as the first step I have decided to join a short 6months diploma course & work as a trainee in an ad agency right after my engg.If I like it then later I can take a MBA in adv & marketing.I believe I would be happy to work in this field for the next 30-40yrs of my life.But my family is afraid that im taking a wrong choice.With their pressure now im a little worried too.Doing some research I have found out that the salary is good.And even if the market goes down every company will have to advertise.I can start as a trainee and grow with experience.Who knows my BE certificate could even fetch me a job as a Marketing manager of an IT company. Please do give me your honest suggestion. Thank you. |
