Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

*B.Com Honours is obviously a higher degree than the ordinary B.Com degree! *B.Com Honours on par with the International Standards of Education!!!.
Most of the colleges have semester system jus like BE (engineering).. The subjects are more detailed, certain colleges providing Bcom Hons include Indian and Foreigns texts, to be in par with the International level.. Above all you get to specialise on a subject in your final year.
In a normal Bcom Course you easily get notes, esplly from tuitorials or some famous book sellers guide.. when it comes to Bcom (H) you need to refer to different books and make your own.. Not sure if any college or Intitute provided that too..

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

B.Com (H)

B.Com (H) is an undergraduate degree designed to inculcate business acumen in students. The course curriculum includes subjects like cost accounting, organizational behaviour and then one can specialize in fields like accounts and economics. You can also pursue courses like Chartered Accountancy along with your B.Com. You can better your skills by pursuing post graduation courses like MBA or M.Com.

Eligibility Criteria: HSC or equivalent, with Maths and English as compulsory subjects.

Scope: You can join a KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) that deals with processing of payrolls, administration of accounts or insurance at entry level positions. If you're interested in figures, and balancing ledgers, cost accounts, then you can join as an account assistant or in the auditing department of various firms. Apart from this, you can go for higher education, by pursuing courses like an MBA or an M.Com.

B.Com (P)

The course is similar to B.Com (H). The difference lies in the fact that you can specialize in a certain subject in B.Com (H), but the B.Com (P) course gives you an overview of all those subjects taught in the honours course.

Eligibility Criteria: HSC or equivalent, with Maths and English as compulsory subjects.

Scope: You can pursue higher education after your graduation. You can pursue courses like MBA or M.Com. Compared to the honours course, the job opportunities are a little less, after pursuing this course.

hi,
B.com is graduation course with general pass subject.
On the other hand,
B.com honours is graduation degree with specialization subject.
In b.com(hon) cost accounting, organizational behaviour etc .subjects are there.and more important point is in b.com((hon) you can specalize in a certain subject .In b.com you can view overview of the subject ,what subject you should select is depend on your interest.
all the best.....

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

B.Com (P) course gives you an overview of all those subjects taught in the honours course but you can specialize in a certain subject in B.Com (H).

B.Com (H) is designed to inculcate business acumen in students. The course curriculum includes subjects like cost accounting, organizational behaviour and then one can specialize in fields like accounts and economics. You can also pursue courses like Chartered Accountancy along with your B.Com.

Bcom is general graduation including 12 papers in 3 years while bcom(h)' syllabus is professionaly designed,it consists 21 papers in 3 years.

The syllabus of B.com(h) is more detailed & advanced than the syllabus of B.com (p).

But both the subjects will help you to do the professional courses like C.A,C.S etc.You can also apply for the post graduate courses after your bachelors degree.

Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors

The level in Bcom (H) is always higher than the normal Bcom.. Most of the colleges have semester system jus like BE (engineering).. The subjects are more detailed, certain colleges providing Bcom Hons include Indian and Foreigns texts, to be in par with the International level.. Above all you get to specialise on a subject in your final year. I had my specialisation done in Cost Accounting, when i did my Bcom (H).. In certain subjects, I had two compulsory texts, the indian and foreign text, and selected topics from each, other than the reference books added to them..

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

Hi,
See by default by B.Com we generally refer to B.Com honors only. If its otherwise then only we specify it distinctly. B.Com honors means you have a specializing subject under B.Com genre. So you will be giving examination on that special paper or subject as 4 papers. Whereas for a B.Com pass course your subjects will consist of only 3 papers. Normally in B.Com honors there are 2 other subjects other than the main specializing subject which re taken as pass subjects. In pass course this special paper is also counted as a pass one and this subject too has to be given as a set of 3 papers.
Honors course gives you the ticket to M.Com. Without having honors in B.Com you cannot opt for M.Com. But B.Com pass can lead you to MBA. No restriction lies over there.

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

Hi,

The difference between b.com and b.com (hon) is education level. In b.com(hon) it is very high level than the b.com and In the b.com(hon) , syllabus is more detailed and advanced ,and there is no standard textbook because syllabus is also from various reference books so in b.com(hon) refer all reference books and standard textbooks and moreover it contain compulsory 6 subjects but In b.com it contain 4-5 subjects

In b.com(hon) cost accounting, organizational behaviour etc .subjects are there.and more important point is in b.com((hon) you can specalize in a certain subject .In b.com you can view overview of the subject ,what subject you should select is depend on your interest.

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

Hi friend..
There is very slight difference between B.Com and B.com honours.
Both the courses are undergraduate courses and you can do it after your 12th.
The duration of both the courses is 3 years.
But the diffence is that B.Com is simpler than B.Com honours.
B.Com hons. provides the students with a wide range of managerial skills and competence building in a particular area.
It also helps in preparing the students for the realities of the modern business world.
But in B.Com,you are simply introduced with various subjects.
In B.Com hons.,detailed knowledge of these subjects is given.
Moreover, the value of B.Com hons. is much more than B.Com in tiday's world.
So,if you confused regarding opting for anyone of the two courses, you should opt for B.Com hons.
Best of luck.
Thanks.
With Regards-
Vikas.

Re: Difference between B.Com and B.Com Honors?

Hello sir,

Simple B.Com or Bachelor In commerce is a graduation degree in commerce with the general pass subjects like the mandatory arts subjects, and other commerce subjects. Here is no specialization course.

But B.Com(Hons) is also a graduation degree which specializes in a particular commerce subject including other pass subjects like arts, and commerce subjects. Here one paper is extra which is regarded as the honors paper.

So much higher priority course is the Honors course.
