Re: Age limit and academic qualifications for joining Indian Army? ----Women officers are inducted in the Indian Army through the Shot Service Commission (Non-Technical) scheme. Under this scheme, the female candidates aspiring to be part of Indian Army must appear for Combined Defence Services Examination. The CDS exam is conduced twice a year, in the months of July and November by UPSC. -NOTE:- Age limit is 23 years -Relaxation available for reserved category candidates. |

Candidates are eligible to make entry into defence services by cracking CDS Exam which is the common written exam for the candidates to be placed in the following defence services Indian Military Academy Indian Naval Academy Indian Air Force Academy Officers Training Academy The maximum age limit is there for Officers Training Academy which is 25 years. As per your date of birth, you have already completed 27 years of age. In addition to that, you have not completed your Graduation in Engineering and you are pursuing it now. By the time you complete your Graduation, your age will be more than 27 years of age. In that case, I am sorry you are not eligible to make entry into defence services as you are going to cross your required age criteria. I suggest you to apply for any other public services like Civil Services Indian Forest Service Engineering Services etc. My suggestion for you is to apply for Engineering services soon after the completion of your Engineering course. here is the age limit for this Exam. For General category : 21-30 years For OBC category : 21-33 years For SC or ST category : 21-35 years Wish you all the best. |

During the time of admission, he should be 17 1/2 years and must not be over 23 years of age. There will be a compulsory paper of Mathematics in the NDA Exam, conducted by Union Public Service Commission. After completion of graduation, interested candidates can appear for the SSB exams for Indian Military Academy. While on completion of engineering, one can also enter as TES entry. |

Re: Age limit and academic qualifications for joining Indian Army? DEAR FRIEND If you want to join the Indian Army, then you have to sit for the NDA exam. NDA stands for the National Defense Academy.Its is an all India entrance exam which is conducted by the UPSC (union public service commission) every year to recruit candidate wings of the Army, Navy and Air force. The Basic Eligibility Criteria's for the NDA exam are : 1. You should be an Unmarried Male Indian National. 2. You should have passed class 12th from a recognized school or state board of India. 3. Maths and Physics are compulsory subjects if you want to apply for the Indian Navy or Air Force. 4. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years. 5. You should be physically fit and no PD candidates would be allowed in this exam. So if you satisfy the above conditions, then you may apply for the NDA 2012. The Notification 2012 has been released very recently on 31st December 2011. The deadline to apply for NDA is 30th January 2012. Please do the needful before this date. The exam will be held in various states in India on 15th April 2012 (Sunday). With this post, I am attaching the Notification and the structure and pattern of the exam. Degree, you will be eligible to apply for Indian Army through CDS entrance examination. CDS - Combined Defence Service, the exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II to join Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy. Re: Age limit and academic qualifications for joining Indian Army? hello dear, Nice to see that you are Interested to Join Indian Army, But you have not mentioned your Qualification in your Question, But Dont worry because Here I am Providing you the Necessary Requirements to Join Indian Army, You can Join Army by these Examinations : >> National Defence Academy Examination >> Combined Defence Academy Examination >> 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme >> University Entry Scheme If you have completed your +2 Examination in any stream from a recognised Board, then you are eligible for Army wings of NDA, But for this your age should between 16.5 to 19 Years, No upper age relaxation is applicable for any candidates. If you have completed your Graduation then you can apply for CDS Examination to Join Indian Military Academy, To apply for CDS Examination your age should between 19 to 25 Years. Both NDA and CDS Examination is Conducted by UPSC, Twice in a year. Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online Only. Respected sir/madam I Sony chail pursuing engg final yr frm E&TC branch. i really wnt to join indian army.i wnt to ask u dat the aggregate percentage u consider is of all 4 yrs of BE or jst final yr ?if i will score above 60 % in final year then is it sufficient to join indian army as my aggregate percentage of 4 yrs will be less than 60% so i m quite worried.. one more thing i wnt to ask u is for those students who wasted der 1 or 2 yr in der degree dat means completed der degree in 5 or 6 yrs inspite of 4 yrs can apply for indian army? |

You want to serve the nation, which is really appreciable, as you are doing graduation in engineering, that's why you can apply in all the combat branches of Indian army i.e. Air wing, naval wing & in military branch. For apply in these forces, you must have to clear the CDSE [COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICE EXAMINATION], which is conducted by UPSC [UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION] every years. For appear in this examination you must have a graduation degree from a recognized college,. But for apply in naval & in air force wing, you must have engineering degree or equivalent degree from a recognized college with the minimum marks of at least 60%. The age limit for this examination is 19-23 years [for air force] 19-24 years [for the naval] 19-25 years [for IMA military]. If you wish to become a part of the Indian Army after your graduation, then you have to sit for the SSC Short Service Commission exam for the post of Graduate Technical men. You should be a graduate in any discipline and your age should be within limits 21-27 at the time you are applying for the SSC. So you can go ahead after the successful completion of your graduation.
