Re: How to prepare for GATE Exam being a candidate of B.Tech in ECE? GATE is a entrance exam for doing M.tech.. It is conducted jointly by IISC and IIT's of India... So, if you really want to crack the exam then you have to study a lot.. You must have a basic clear concept.. Study the books of core subjects throughly.. Follow reference books to gather more technical knowledge... Try to solve the previous year sample question papers of GATE , which will help you a lot, to get understand the exam pattern.. Practice numerical problems as much as you can.. Get a clear concept in mathematics, which is a scoring part of GATE exam.. So, if you solve maths problems as many as possible then you will get advantage.. THANKS |

Re: How to prepare for GATE Exam being a candidate of B.Tech in ECE? Dear friend, firstly have a look at the syllabus of GATE of ECE. Then point out in which subjects you are strong. Revise these topics first. Then go to other topics. Your B. Tech. notes will help you much. Join a good coaching institute. You can also join a good test series. Study the whole syllabus. Do not leave any portion. Solve a variety of questions rather than solving a number of questions of same type. Focus on quality and not quantity. Good Luck. |

Hi If you were sincere and fixed to go for GATE you have to fallow some ways. firstly you must be well known about your core subjects,before going to these you must have the clear idea about the SYLLABUS of your GROUP and subjects involving. you should prepare all the basic concepts which were origin to your subjects Building aptitude skills will help you in the EXAM like GATE.You must be updated regarding the books available for GATE. Last but not least is that you have to verify the previous question papers of GATE then you will get some idea on how is he asking the questions, and you will be able to analyse the blue print of your subjects. Do hard work and prepare perfectly then automatically RESULTS will favour you........ALL THE BEST. |

I would also suggest you to join a coaching institute where you can given regular exams and also understand you weakness and work on it.you also need to work on aptitude as there is a section on this also. |

First of all you need to go through the syllabus which has been attached here.GATE exam mainly consists of your core subjects along with Mathematics part which you must have covered in your Engineering.Recently Aptitude part was also included in the GATE examination. You need to be strong in your basics to score well in GATE.Since your a ECE student hence your basic subjects include Electronic Devices and Circuit and Network Analysis which you must have covered in the first year of the course itself.You even need to be strong in subjects like Control Systems where majority of the bits will be asked.Please go through the previous year question papers so that you get an idea about the number of marks getting covered from each subject. Preparation through standard books will definitely help you for GATE examination.You can prefer books of Millman and Boylestead to score well in GATE. |
