Re: Which are the recognized LLB correspondence courses in India?

Unfortunately there are no recognized correspondence LLB courses in India. As a matter of fact, the LLB course is not even offered through correspondence. The course offered is different.

Correspondence courses are not valid as far as Bar Council of India is concerned. It will not accept your degree if completed from a distance education or correspondence mode.

You will have to complete LLB through regular mode and maintain 80 percent attendance to appear for the final examination. Bar Council of India is extremely serious about implementing the attendance rules in all law colleges in the country.

The problem you will have with correspondence courses is that Bar Council will not approve them. Since Bar Council of India does not approve these courses, it is practically impossible to practice in court as lawyer having completed correspondence law degree.

It leaves the course worthless if you can't even practice as lawyer. Therefore my suggestion is that you should apply for the LLB course through regular mode. I am afraid that this is the only option in front of you.

LLB Eligibility

1. You must have under graduate degree.

2. 45/50 percent marks depending on university.

3. The criteria for SC/ST varies from 5 percent relaxation to no percentage criteria.

4. Age limit is 30 years on the maximum side.

5. There is 5 years relaxation offered for SC/ST.

Re: Which are the recognized LLB correspondence courses in India?

There is no LLB corresponding/ distance in india. Those guys doing regular LLB can only practice in court which is accepted by Bar council of India. There are many law courses instead of LLB like business law, intellectual property law, cyber law etc. which are available through corresponding/ distance mode. Hope this piece of information would help you guys. Best of luck. Regards, Sumeer
