Re: Is M.E. necessary to become a faculty member in an Engineering College?

to become a faculty in an engineering college your minimum qualification should be master degree.
if you complete your p.hd then easily you can join in an engineering college as a faculty.
there is no difference between regular candidate and distance education candidate for this type of recruitment. so don't worry complete your p.hd.
best of luck.

Re: Is M.E. necessary to become a faculty member in an Engineering College?

Hi!
The degrees you have now is sufficient for getting any lecturership jobs in engineering colleges. However, the aicte has publish new rule for the lecturere jobs that a candidate must have master degree in specified subject.
So you have part time degree, it doesn't matter whether it is part time or full time.
So you can apply now for a lecturere job in any private engineering colleges.
Good luck!

Re: Is M.E. necessary to become a faculty member in an Engineering College?

dear friend,

As per my knowledge you can't apply for the post of faculty in any engineering college.

For the lecturer in engineering college you have to be ME/M.Tech.
This is the criteria of AICTE.

& if you are interested to be lecturer/faculty then kindly do M.Tech then only, you can apply for the post of faculty in any engineering college.

for more information regarding this topic you can take help from :
www.aicte-india.org

good luck.

Re: Is M.E. necessary to become a faculty member in an Engineering College?

If you have the PhD degree or you are going to get one then there is no need of master of engineering.
When you complete your PhD then you can appear National Eligibility Test popularly known as NET or UGC-NET.
Once you qualify this test you can apply for the professor post anywhere in India.
For details about UGC-NET visit its official website.

Re: Is M.E. necessary to become a faculty member in an Engineering College?

Dear friend

it is very nice that you have too much interest in study, But to become a lecturer in

BTech colleges you have already sufficient degree. It does not matter that you have

done your MSc I.T as regular course or correspondence course.

There is no need to do ME in IT or CSE.But if you want, you can do but i think

it will be extra burden on you.

Best of luck

There are various posts under teaching staff (Lecturer, Asst.Professor, Professor) and you haven't mentioned on which post you need entry.

However, I have attached a Official Annexure of AICTE which will provide you the complete Qualification requirement for different types of Faculty members.
