Hello friend, ips stands for indian police service. Eligibility criteria:- educational qualification is graduation in any stream from any recognized university and there is no percentage required for this exam. You do any degree whichever you interested. Age limit is 21 to 30years for open candidates, for bc 21 to 33 years, for sc/st 21 to 35years. You apply group 1 exams for ips. Prepare well. All the best

Nothing to do with high percentages in the exams conducted by UPSC.
A aspirant of UPSC exams have to complete degree with a minimum of 45% which is also not mentioned but unofficially we come to know that the UPSC authorities will favor those who are having at least 45%.
if you have less percentage there is no problem.

Coming to your next query..

And which degree is better for join ips?
actually IPS stands for Indian Police services . To get this service the aspirant of this have to clear a common entrance exam called Civil Service exam.

For this the eligibility criteria required is
->aspirant has to complete his degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.
->also he has to have a minimum of 21 years of age.

Then after completing the whole procedure of Civil service examination you will be offered your desired service based on your rank.

This is how you will become IPS officer.

Age criteria required for this examination is minimum 21 years of age and you should not exceed 30 years of age in case of general category.

BC Candidates will also come under General Category.

Only the reserved categories are OBC/SC/ST
remaining all categories comes under General Category only.

after reading this post you may get various doubts regarding various topics. you feel free to post all your queries separately with full details.
we are here to help you only.
