Re: Is there any way to become doctor after doing B.Tech and M.tech in electrical field?

Hey there!
I'm sorry to say but changing the field now wouldn't be so great as per my opinion. I guess you should continue engineering... Remember that consistency is the key!

God bless :)

You have started to think about becoming a doctor too late in the day. Why you want to pursuse MBBS now when you have already completed B.Tech and M.Tech as well.

I will not recommend you to do so. What is the point of wasting 6 years of hard work. It is much better to look for job related to the field. You can apply in countless number of Public Sector Undertakings in India.

If you decides to pursue MBBS, it will take more than 6 years to complete. It would be 12 years of college study for you.

However if you are still interested in doing so. Here is what you will have to do.

To pursue MBBS you will have to appear for the NEET entrance exam. You can only appear for it if Biology was one of the subjects in 12th standard. If it wasn't then its pretty much game over for you.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted for MBBS and BDS. Do not think for a moment that having completed B.Tech and M.Tech will carry any advantage. You will have to clear the exam just like any other student. And based on your performance in NEET you may, or may not get admission for the MBBS.

NEET Eligibility

1. NEET is only open for Indian nationals.

2. Physics, Biology and Chemistry should be your subjects in 12th.

3. At least 50 percent marks in 12th are required.

4. You should be at least 17 years old to appear for NEET.

5. Upper age limit for All India quota is 25 years.

6. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.

7. No upper age limit for states quota seats.

Yes you can do MBBS after BTECH ,but you have to get admission only on 12th basis and the Btech Degree is of no use in getting admission in Mbbs

Re: Is there any way to become doctor after doing B.Tech and M.tech in electrical field?

Dear pal,
after doing bachelor degree in engineering one can do specialisation in a particular discipline. If you can continue to do your course which is referred to as doctrate in philosophy. Those who have cleared the course are called as doctor. It is nothing about a appreciation given for mastering the field . But this do not do anything with that of medical field.

To become a doctor one need to do MBBS course. They can do their specialisation in various disciplines namely skin, eye, heart etc. If you wish you can do MBBS now also provided you must have chosen biology in your +2. but the years you have did your engineering course will become useless moreover it is not easy to study and get degree as you would have lost your memory regarding those things.
So the right way is to continue in the same field . In engineering field also you have a wide job opportunity. If you wish to serve the people then you can write service exams like IAS, IPS, IES for which you are eligible.

Dear friend,if you did your 10+2 with pcm you can go for studying mbbs.Belive it or not becoming doctor is really a great challenge.Atleast it takes 5.5 years to complete the degree. Most colleges and university have varies age limitation basically around 24.so it is not suggested for you to go to that field.Being a student of m.tech in electrical engineering field you can do a lot.You can apply for ph.d.you can apply for INSPIRE fellowship as you are a postgraduate. You can apply for good jobs in the R&D departments of public and private sector.you can also become lecture.Nowadays handsome salary is given to them. All the best.

Re: Is there any way to become doctor after doing B.Tech and M.tech in electrical field?

It is better not to go into doctor profession after B.Tech and M.tech in electrical field. It is better to continue in the respective field. One can find lucrative career options in organizations like BHEL, BEL, State Electric board, etc after completion of the course. You can also try for jobs in teaching field. MBBS degree is the basic qualification required to become a doctor. The candidate should pass medical entrance exams in order to get in to the degree. Also the maximum age for most of the entrance exam is 21- 23years.
