No! After re-appearing at JEE-MAIN (AIEEE), you will be treated as a fresh engineering aspirant irrespective of your previous college. JEE-MAIN (AIEEE) is an exam for entry in 1st year of Engineering Courses.

friend,

as i hav mentioned earlier, it is nealy impossible to do so as it does come under one single administration umbrella.

u can shift only between colleges of a same university provided both the colleges of the shift agree to the change called as transfer in the process..

regards..

dear friend,

The shifting of college is provisioned only when the colleges come under the same university and there are vacancies in the course in the college in which u shift...

AS in the case of NITs, they don satisfy the one university criteria.... as it forms that it is impossible to do so...

But if ur very focussed try re appearing for the AIEEE and getting thru the NIT of ur choice! but keep in mind u hav to start the course again from scratch!!

regards....

Re: Can a student shift from one NIT to another? What is the procedure to shift?

Yes, there is an provision for that it can be done only on medical ground.
Because of different way and pace of teaching in different NIT, students are not allowed to do this.
Also you must be living in hostel, you cannt give excuse of transfer of your father.

Re: Can a student shift from one NIT to another? What is the procedure to shift?

Dear Friend

There is no such provision of shifting from one NIT to another.

The college where finally get admission will remain for entire course.

It can't be changed without reappearing AIEEE.

However, you would have the opportunity to change branch after 1st year
if you perform very well in the first year.

There are certain rules for the change of branch in every college.
