In order to join the National Defense Academy, qualifying higher secondary examination is mandatory. Candidates who have not yet passed the higher secondary examination can not write NDA Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Since the NDA Exam is conducted for all the three wings of National Defense Academy, i.e. Army Wing, Naval Wing and Air Force Wing, the eligibility criteria for Army Wing and the other two wings varies.
Candidates with any subject combination in the higher secondary level may apply for the Army Wing of National Defense Academy but in order to be considered eligible for the Naval Wing and Air Force Wing, candidate must have studied Physics and Mathematics in the higher secondary level.
As far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 16 years 6 months and the maximum age limit is 19 years.

So, in order to be eligible for the NDA Examination, you will first of all need to complete your higher secondary education preferably with subject combination of Physics and Mathematics.
