Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?

Hi Guest,

In IIT exam any category candidate is given a maximum of 2 attempts.

So as you belong to SC category you will be allowed to apply for the examination for a maximum of two times.

Thank you,

All the best.

~~~Reservation for Shedule Cast aspearents~~~
>>>Eligbility relaxation.
There is no relaxation provided to any of the category. A candidate must pass 10+2 or equivalent exam compalsury to all.
>>>Relaxation on maximum age.
A candidate must not be above the age of 25years. However in the case of SC, ST, and PH candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
>>>Screening test merit relaxation.
The qualifying criterion and the ranks in the screening test is based on total mark scored. Separate list of candidates belonging to SC cast will be prepared as per relaxed norms (4times the %of reserved seats).
>>>Relaxation in mains exam marit.
This is the final marit in which marit of SC cast student is prepared seperately on the basis of seats reserved for them.
>>>Reserved seat for SC cast candidates.
15% seats are avilable for SC cast candidates for admissio through IIT JEE. The seats are decided as per goverments direction for SC cast student for all institute within India.
Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?
There is no special relaxation for any type of reserved candidate in connection to number of attempts to IIT-JEE.
One can attempt consecutively two times for IIT-JEE which is is same for any category of candidate.
The candidate can first attempt IIT-JEE in the year of appearing for the 12th exam and the second one can be in the next year only. So if the candidate misses one attempt in the year of appearing for the 12th exam then he can attempt the same in the next year only.
Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?
dear you know that 35% seats are avilable for SC/ST student in iit-jee.
so,your chances in iit exams is more as compare to OBC or General kota.
Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?
Maximum number of attempts for IIT-JEE is restricted to 2 (two) for any category candidate.
The first attempt has to be in the year when student appear the 12th board and
and other is just next year.
If a candidate misses any one of these two or both attempts then he/she can
never attempt IIT-JEE.
There is no relaxation for SC/ST/PD/OBC candidates in this criteria.
If IIT-JEE would be conducted in the year 2013 then only those who would have appeared
12th board exam in the year 2012 or those who will be appearing 12th baord exam in the
year 2013, could apply for the exam.
If the government's proposal of Common Engineering Entrance Test for admission to
all the engineering colleges (or Govt. engineering colleges) is implemented in the year 2013
then there could be some change in criteria.
