My dear friend,
IIT JEE is one of the most reputed and popular exam in engineering students. But now the new name of IIT JEE is ISEET.

Books for ISEET:

Physics:
First clear your basics from "NCERT Physics" class 11 & 12 then prefer
Concept Of Physics by HC Verma.
Problem in Physics by I.E Irodov.

Physical Chemistry:
"First clear your basics from" NCERT Chemistry class 11 & 12.
Physical Chemistry by RC Mukherjee.
Physical Chemistry by P.Bhadur

Inorganic Chemistry:
Clear your baics from "NCERT Chemistry" Class 11 &12
then prefer Inorganic Chemistry by P.Bhadur

Organic Chemistry:
First clear your basics from "Organic Chemistry by O.P Tondon"
then prefer "Concise Organic Chemistry by Morrission and Boyd"

ALGEBRA:

High school mathematics by Hall and Knight
IIT Maths by M.L. Khanna

CALCULUS AND ANALYTIC GEOMETRY
Arihant Calculus by Amit M Agarwal

Coordinate geometry :
Coordinate geometry by SL Loney
IIT Maths by M.L. Khanna

VECTORS
IIT Maths by M.L. Khanna
Vectors and Graph by Amit M Agarwal(Arihant Publication)

Note: Also practice at-least 10 years previous year papers.

Good Luck

To prepare for IIT-JEE, try to follow the rules ;

** Read your text books carefully and detailed.

** Make a time table to which subject how log you read.

** Use any best reference books. Do not use so many books as it is confused you.

** You can take admission on any coaching center for mock test series or class room coaching.

** Believe on yourself, that you will make a good result on IIT.

₹ Some best reference books for IIT :

1. Mathematic-R.S Agwarwal.

2. Physics- H.C Verma.

3. Chemistry- NCERT Text books.

All the best !

IIT-JEE exam is an Engineering Entrance Exam in India.
It is regarded as one of the toughest Engineering Exam in India.
Selection Ratio is 50:1.
That means out of 50 students only 1 student get selected in IIT-JEE.

You will get notifications about this exam nearly in November-December.
Students start preparing for these exams 2 year before. But if you have strong desire to crack this exam, you can crack it in preparing for 1 year.

Some good books that I would recommend you to prepare for this exam are H.C.Verma for Physics, Concepts of Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics for IIT-JEE by TMH (Tata Mcgraw Publications), etc.

Good Luck!!

Re: How to prepare for IIT JEE entrance exam? Books to be preferred for the same?

To prepare for IIT-JEE you must follow the following steps as under-

1. Believe in yourself- You will not reach far if you think getting into IIT is too tough for you and it is only the super-smart alien like geeks and nerds who manage to crack the exam.

2. You must convince yourself that the geeks and nerds who enter IIT every year are, though definitely smart, much like you and me in every respect.

3. Learn time management-A very crucial issue facing JEE aspirants like you is the problem of time management. Manage your time well. Give proper importance to all the three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

4. Find out what you need for studying- There is no particular number of hours that you must put in everyday for studying. But one very important thing is to be regular and consistently follow your daily time-table.

5. Study- You must choose a good study material and stick to it. Switching from one book to another will harm your preparation.

6. Try getting hold of some good mentors- Locus Education provides free study material, worksheets and tests for students. Locus also have provision for free mentors. You can get online counselling through their web portal.

7. Persevere- At the end the key to success is perseverance. Be calm and patient. You need not panic on the day of exam and give your absolute best on the IIT JEE examination day.

Apart from books, you can also check out video courses. This new methodology is becoming very popular for self-learning at your own pace.

For example, check out video courses from Eduflix (http://eduflix.tv). They also have scholarship program - http://blog.eduflix.tv/2012/05/announcing-eduflix-scholarship-program/

Books mentioned by BISWARUPYOGI and mnbgvs are the best books and these will definitely help you. Rest all depends on your hard work

All the best!

hi!!

IIT-JEE is considered the most difficult engineering entrance exam in our country.Hence preparation required for this must be special...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
for physics
physics is a subject based on concepts and judges your knowledge with the concepts to be applied in the questions.the conceptual part is the most important part to be focused on ,hence it is essential to choose the right material to practice...

BOOKS referred

~H.C Verma(concept of physics)
~IE Irodov
~resnick and halliday
~DC Pandey
~D Mukherjee

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOR Chemistry
chemistry is a subject based on concepts and cramming of your knowledge with the concepts to be applied in the questions.the conceptual part is the most important part to be focused on especially in parts like organic and inorganic chemistry .

BOOKS referred

~ORGANIC CHEMISTRY

---Morrison & Boyd
---Arihant publications

~INORGANIC CHEMISTRY

---NCERT Inorganic Chemistry
---Concise Inorganic Chemistry by J.D. Lee
--- Chemistry by O.P. tondon

~PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY

---J.D. Lee
---R.C.Mukerjee

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

for Mathematics

considered the most dificult part and hence purely based on practice.the cut offs are much lower so focus on coordinate geometry and trignometry

BOOKS referred

--Tata Mc graw hills publications
---RD Sharma
---coordinate by loney

hope this helped...........
