Last years question papers? sir,i am studying 3rd year of Electrical engineering . i want apply for ies exam how i have to prepare for exam and which books i have to reffer for that . I mean i am expecting complete co-operation from u that i want clear view about subject wise that which books i have to reffer . and in which way i have to prepare for ies exam a complete clarifycation . can u please help me in my preparation... |

 Exam pattern There will be 2 sections. One section consist of objective papers and other section consists of conventional papers. There will be 3 objective papers - general ability test (which includes general english and general studies) , mechanical engineering paper 1 and mechanicam engineering paper 2. Each paper will be of 200 marks and time allotted for each paper will be 2 hours There will be 2 conventional papers - mechanical engineering paper 1 and mechanicam engineering paper 2. Each paper will be of 200 marks and time allotted for each paper will be 3 hours Reference books For General studies exam you should refer to these books - For History you should refer to NCERT books for studying Ancient India, Medieval India and Modern India -For Indian Geography you should refer to the NCERT books and for World Geography you can refer to Gohcheng- Leong -You should also study Atlas -Constitution of India by Subhash Kashyap - For Life science also you should refer to the NCERT books - For current affairs you must keep yourself updated with newspapers and magazines Reference books for Mechanical engineering- ENGINEERING Thermodynamics - P.K. Nag  Fluid Mechanics - D.S. Kumar  Heat and Mass Transfer - JP Hollman I.C. Engine - R.P. Sharma Compressible Flow - S.M. Yahya After studying these you can refer to books which provide previous year solved papers There are many publications for these. I am attaching a complete list of standard books for Mechanical engineering used for IES There will also be a separate syllabus for Mechanical engineering paper 1 and Mechanical engineering paper 2. |

To apply for this examination , candidate should have a completed engineering degree of a recognized University or equivalent qualification and candidate age should be between 21 years and 30 years .
