Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

HI

Any course in correspondence has less value than corresponding regular course.
Since it is Masters in Computer Application, it requires practical knowledge.

Thus, you should join regular course because of following
- its a specialized course
- practical knowledge is required

Already, company prefer candidates with computer science background. by choosing MCA correspondence you would be giving them one more reason to the company to choose them over you.

All the best

Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

MCA In Correspondence is also Valuable, But I will advice you, to do MCA course Regular. But if you have not be able to attened the MCA regular classes, then you can do MCA in correspondence.

Many Colleges will Offer MCA correspondence course like IGNOU, Pune University, Sikkim Manipal University, Delhi University And Anna University.

But, the Preference Will be Given To the Regular candidates.

Because In now a days, Top IT Comapnies, will recruits the MCA regular Candidates. So, if you have a time, then its better to do Regular MCA course and after completing Regular MCA, you will definitely get Good Jobs in Top IT Companies Like Infosys, Wipro, Hp, HCL, And Many More.

So, if you are interested in MCA course through Correspondence mode, then Its better To do this Course from Top Correspondence colleges, Only then you will get good Jobs in Future

HII...!!!!
1)There's certainly a big difference between regular and distance education.
In regular education you get to attend the classroom teaching which cannot be substituted by any means.

2)The video learning of distance education is one way and lecturite in nature which doesn't help you culture the particular subject. Moreover in distance education you are not aware of your level of progress as you have no one to compete against.

3)Due to all these reasons preference is always given to regularly obtained degrees.

4)Distance education is less seen of advantage as compared to a regular mode, but then a distance education degree is a better option for those who are having work experience and work along side.

all the best...

Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

hi!!

As every coin has two faces,Both regular and distance education course have some positive and negative points:-

1)The positive thing is in regular course is that you can use the fame of your college at time of your placement. You can get the job by giving interview in your college itself.
2)The negative thing is that you can't earn money at that duration and you need to spend more money as fees for colleges.

DISTANCE EDUCATION:-

->The +VE point is that in distance education MCA is that you can join in a job and earn more. After MCA if you go for any other placement your work experience of those three years will support you for getting job.
->The -VE is that you can't have any practical sessions and you need study totally on your own and the practicals is done only at the time of exam.

So everything depends upon your interest.....go ahead.
All the best...

Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

While doing a job many opts for degrees in correspondence. That is still useful as it helps you to accelerate your promotion or gives you additional knowledge to improve your performance level.

But if the same student with a correspondence degree goes to search for a job then obviously he will find great difficulty in getting a decent one. In most of the cases you won't get proper value for the degree you possess. Since students with full time degree course is always preferred.

So while pursuing a full time degree if you want to do a certificate course go for it. But never let your future decide a correspondence degree course. Good luck

Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

Yes, You can't get any guidance from teachers. But MCA is a post graduation course. Even if you join in regular also you won't get so much guidance.

Thus i would suggest you that it is advisable to do MCA in correspondence course in big universities like IGNOU(Indira Gandhi National Open University).

Both regular and distance education course have some advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage in regular course is that you can use the fame of your college at time of your placement. You can also make your life secured by getting job in campus interview. The disadvantage is that you can't earn money at that duration and you need to spend more money as fees for colleges.

The advantage in distance education MCA is that you can join in a job and earn more. After MCA if you go for any other placement your work experience of those three years will support you for getting job. The disadvantage is that you can't have any practical sessions and you need study totally on your own and the practicals is done only at the time of exam.

Re: Is it advisable to do MCA in correspondence?

Hi

To be very frank, A regular course always wins over the Correspondence and distance learning.
This is because, the regular course provides you a regularity in your studies, the constant touch with the faculty, your friends, and books make you more efficient as a professional.
Where as in Correspondence you tend to become slow, you work at your own pace, you never see any competition and so as an individual your efficiency gets low.

Yeah but I won't say distance programs are bad. Its not like that. Ultimately the degree matters. And you would get similar master's degree like the regulars.

So yeah if you cannot do a regular course due to some issue then take the distance learning.

All the best
