Re: How many attempts are allowed general category(OC) candidates for SBI clerk exam?

For many Bank Exams, there is no limit on the number of attempts. But for SBI it is not like that. The candidates have to be very careful with this.

Here is the information regarding number of attempts for SBI Clerk Exam.

For General category : Maximum of 4 attempts
For OBC category : Maximum of 7 attempts
For SC or ST category : No limit

Many of the candidates will not know this thing and they will simply apply for the exam for the sake of practice.

But when they know this thing, then they will realize that they have missed an opportunity.

This is too harm for General category candidates as they can appear for this Exam for a maximum of 4 times.

You did not mention whether you have already taken this Exam or not.

As you are from OC category, maximum 4 times you can apply for this Exam.

Hence don't apply for this Exam if your preparation is not strong enough. You can apply for next year but don't waste the chance.

SBI Clerk exam is considered to be little tough than other bank exams.

Hence your preparation should be extraordinary to get through Exam. Try to be good enough in this.

Wish you all the best.

Re: How many attempts are allowed general category(OC) candidates for SBI clerk exam?

Dear Friends ,

There are no such specific number of attempts fixed for appearing in SBI Clerk exam , but there are some basic requirements of this exam that you have to fulfill.

These requirements are :

* You must have completed your 12th with a minimum of 60% marks from any recognized board.

* Your age should lie in between 18-28 years.

* There is a relaxation in upper age for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

So , you need not to worry about the number of attempts allowed. You just focus on your preparation and try to qualify the examination successfully.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: How many attempts are allowed general category(OC) candidates for SBI clerk exam?

Hi dear,
Its very interesting news, everybody must know the number of attempts did not mentioned in clerk and as well as PO,So you can take this exam this year and as well as in year 2012 also. Normally for SBI you have only 4 attempts ,if you didn't select in anyone of 4 attempts. You are not eligible to write SBI PO exam, but you can write four times extra for SBI associated banks.
good luck

Re: How many attempts are allowed general category(OC) candidates for SBI clerk exam?

There is no limits in the number of attempts one can take for the clerk exam. But there is an age limit to appear for the exam. You cannot appear if you are over 28 years old. Ideally you must solve past papers before appearing for the exam. Learn short cuts and also trying solving areas you are comfortable first.
