Re: List of the colleges providing direct 2nd year admission in engineering? You don't need list for that. Most colleges in India will offer admission in second year of B.tech to diploma candidates. However National Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Technology will not offer admission. There is no provision of lateral entry admission in these institutes. They only offer admission through entrance exam. Unfortunately the following entrance exams are useless for direct admission in second year of B.Tech: IIT-JEE ISEET AIEEE BITSAT UPSEE These exams are for candidates who have completed 12th and not diploma. The diploma holder should appear for Lateral Entry Engineering Test (LEET). This entrance exam is conducted in various Indian states. The criteria to appear for LEET entrance exam is that candidate should complete diploma with at least 60 percent marks. However there are some other entrance exams as well which will allow candidates with 50 percent marks to appear as well. It is also important to know that some colleges prefer to conduct their own entrance exams while some even offer direct admission. |

It is a rule that if you have spend your time getting a diploma certificate then for doing B-tech you dont need to get admission in 1st year, for year the duration of course will be of three years.
