Hi TUSHARVERMA, NCERT is the best and you need to study in such a way that you balance both. Your focus, if you are serious about the entrance, should be on practice questions and thus problem solving books. What I have found, (and generally I am the last one to take up new things) is that DVDs that have come up in the market help a lot in increasing concentration. Plus they are best for theory since they have 3D images and if you simply spend 1.5 hours on it, you have ample time for problem-solving. In fact, one of them gives you online support with daily assignments. I ordered a Demo DVD from kaysonseducation.co.in You are from UP and their centre is also in Moradabad.

you can give two consecutive attempts for getting selected, you can refer the NCERT books for IIT JEE which will be available in book stores.

if your a IIT aspirant then you have to refer all the text books and then go for attempting model papers of IIT.

all the best

if you are trying to crack the exam then refer more books other than up board books,
if you just want to have experience this time then no need to prepare for this just give and experiences it.
if you are serious then
books are
1.study materials available at book starlls and coaching centres
2.H C VERMA for physics
3.arhihant magazines for physics and chemistry/maths

you can give IIT jee paper only twice
one when u passed your 12 and..
another one when you will be 1 year ahead

good luck

only text book are not sufficient for IIT JJE irrespective of the board. but text books are very important to do well in the examination of IIT JEE.

first go through the syllabus of IIT JEE and find out which portion is out of your UP board syllabus. buy some books from market which are specially for IIT JEE. study the extra part from that book. practice some model question paper and try to solve it within time. surely you will do well in the IIT JEE examination.

number of attempts allowed for IIT JEE is two consecutive year.

best wishes.

NCERT books are considered best for this purpose. so many experts advice to read these ncert book for prepairing iit. otherwise book by ERODOV is considered best for cracking IIT-JEE. according to the guidelines of iit a student can appear only 2 times in iit. first when you are in class twelve and other just afterthat.
