Re: Can I join merchant navy on the basis of 10th after passing 10th with 54%? No you can not get job in merchant navy on the basis of your performance in 10th standard. You need qualification of at least 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects. This is the minimum qualification through which you can get job in Merchant Navy. However this qualification will not get you any officer level job. At best you can expect Deck Cadet job that too after pre-sea course which generally is provided by the company itself. Even if you are looking to study further in order to get better jobs in Merchant Navy still you will need the same 10+2 qualification with PCM as the subjects. For the officer level jobs you will either have to do Bachelor of Science or B.Tech course, both these courses are for science stream students. Therefore give your 12th exam and then apply for the job in Merchant Navy. However if you have not completed 12th with PCM subjects then I am afraid that there is no opening for you in the merchant navy. You will have to think about alternative career option. Eligibility 1. 10+2 with PCM as the subjects. 2. The age liimt is 20 years. 3. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates. 4. Candidate should be unmarried, regardless of the gender. 5. You must pursue B.Sc Nautical Science or B.Tech in Marine Engineering. Physical Requirements There will be physical requirements like minimum height which is 150 cm, your vision should be 6/6 and no sea sickness etc. Direct Admission 1. Candidates having passed 12th PCM can directly apply for Deck Cadet job. 2. B.Tech graduates in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology can also get direct entry into merchant navy for jobs such as Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer. Engineering graduates are required to do 9 months long Pre-sea course in Marine Engineering from MERI. |

Re: Can I join merchant navy on the basis of 10th after passing 10th with 54%? no you are not eligible for navy on your 10 th basis... navy candidate must completed the his 12th standard. nda exam is conducted by the upsc twice in a year. the navy is the one wing in nda exam. eligibility criteria: 1.the candidate should be complete 12 th standard from a recognised state board of india. 2.age limit is 16.5 years to 19 years 3.only unmarried male candidates are eligible. 4.candidate should be physically fit. 5.candidate should be a citizen of india. application procedure: online selection procedure: 1.written test 2.interview 3.medical test for more details visit www.upsc.gov.in all the best.............. |

TO join navy there is no requrment of 10th mark after 12th exam , you have to give the NDA exam conduct by UPSC .IF you want to apply online then click on this link http://www.upsc.gov.in/ Otherwise you can get offline form in ypur nearest post office at cost RS 21/- |
