Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? You can apply for JEE if you are 16 years old and have the required qualification. You must be 10+2 pass with PCM or appearing in the 10+2 final examination for JEE . Only 3 consecutive attempts are allowed for JEE. Exam Pattern: -Exam Duration will be of 3 hours. -There will be Objective type questions from subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. They will carry equal number of questions. -There will be four options and you have to select correct answer. -There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? Hi, See although there is no such strict demarcation as to what age you should be, minimum, to opt for IIT(Indian Institute of Technology). So, if you are having age of 16, you can appear for IIT-JEE exam. For more information, you can visit: http://jee.iitm.ac.in/eligibility.php |

Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? As there is no specification of any minimum age to apply for IIT JEE exam, you can apply for the same at the age of 16 years. But to apply for IIT JEE there are other eligibility criteria like a candidate applying for IIT JEE should have completed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 60% marks from a recognised Board. Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? Age of a student doesn't matters in appearing for IIT-JEE exam. Just now in this year, a 14-year old student cracked IIT-JEE from Bihar. So, if you are having age of 16, you can appear for IIT-JEE exam. For more information, you can visit: http://jee.iitm.ac.in/eligibility.php |

Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? Hi, See although there is no such strict demarcation as to what age you should be, minimum, to opt for IIT(Indian Institute of Technology). But due to the standard of the examinations over the period of time I would suggest you to first opt for a good coaching on these examination procedures for one or two years, and then to go for this examination. You are just 16, that means you are in your 10th standards. The syllabus that you have for iit jee has calculus, permutation, combinations, analytical and coordinate geometry and a lot more in Mathematics, not to mention the other subjects Physics and Chemistry. Unless you have a little more knowledge on this you cannot afford to think of sitting in this examination, forget about clearing it. So you would need help of some good coaching centers and also you must go through your HS syllabus. This would be of great help to you. All the best. |

Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? Age 16 is not a issue to appear in IIT/JEE exam. The eligibility Criteria for this is: 1. 10+2 in Non-Medical i.e. with Physics, Chemistry and Maths 2. You should have atleast 60% marks in 10+2 3. Firstly, you will have to clear JEE main then advance test of JEE |

Re: Am I eligible for IIT at an age of 16? Quote:
You must be from non medical stream, having studied PCM in 11th & 12th. Till now, eligibility criertia was that, you should have 60% in 12th, but there has been crucial changes in pattern of exam. Although number of attempt are still two. IITJEE will now consist of two exam, JEE Main & JEE Advanced. For JEE mains, only the students from top 20 percentile from their respective state boards /CBSE will be eligible for the exam. So, if you are from CBSE, you must score atleast 78% aggregate in 12th. After JEE mains, there will be JEE advanced which will be conducted by IITs, approx 1L will be appear for this, selected from JEE mains. Final selection will be basded on JEE advanced. Rest admission pattern will remain same as this year. Number of IITs are now 15 including new ones, which accounts for about 9,000 seats. If you want more information then please check official website of IIT. |
