Yes, you can purse LL.B.(Bachelor of Law) Degree after completing Graduation in any stream.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian citizen having completed Graduation in any stream from a recognised University with at least 40% marks within the age of 30 years.

Some reputed Institutions conduct entrance exam like CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) for admission to LL.B. Course, others conduct admission on the basis of mark secured in Graduation level.

You are eligible for the law course. I don't think you should first complete a graduation then apply for LLB because it would waste your one year. The best option is to apply for BA LLB course which is five years long.

This way you can obtain law degree in 5 years while if you pursue B.Com/B.Sc first then it would take minimum of six years to complete the LLB course.

Now I should tell you that both LLB and BA LLB degrees have same value when looking for jobs. The advantage of BA LLB only is that it saves your one year. It is because BA LLB includes graduation course as well.

The complaint made to Bar Coucil of India was that LLB is a graduation course, to pursue that one needs to do another graduation course. This is why BCI came up with BA LLB which can be pursued after completing 12th standard.

Most law colleges in the country are these days offering BA LLB. You can simply appear for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and seek admission in a good law college. Below is the eligibility criteria mentioned for you.

BA LLB Eligibility

1. You must complete 12th standard from a recognized board.

2. Minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th.

3. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks in 12th.

4. The age limit for BA LLB is 20 years.

5. The age limit is relaxed by 2 years for SC/ST.

CLAT SYLLABUS

Elementary Mathematics

General English

General Knowledge

Current Affairs

Legal Aptitude

Logical Reasoning
