Yes you can join M.TECH in Aeronautical engineering after completion of BE in Mechanical engineering.I will advise you to do your M.TECH from some top Institute like IIT,NIT etc,Don't do your M.TECH from some local colleges.You will provide with good salary if you have done M.TECH.You can do your M.TECH in another branch also like Automobile,Power plant engineering etc. |

You are definitely eligible to puruse Post Graduate degree in Aeronautics Engineering after completing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. In fact students who have completed B.Tech degree in several branches that are mentioned below are also eligible for M.Tech in Aeronautics. These branches are: Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical Electronics Instrumentation As a B.Tech degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, you are eligible for some stream of Aeronautics Engineering. 1. Aerodynamics Engineering - This branch deals with Motion of Air when it reacts with solid object. 2. Aerospace Propulsion - This branch is about the use of high power engines to move structure into air. 3. Aerospace structure - This branch is about contruction, development and testing of various aircrafts using different energy sources. How to Get Admission To get admission in any good college that is offering M.Tech in Aeronautics course you need to have B.Tech degree in one of the streams mentioned above. You should secure at least 60 percent marks in the B.Tech course Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are required to secure at least 55 percent marks. For M.Tech you will have to appear in the GATE exam which is entrance exam for M.tech courses. Other such entrance exam is PGCET. Depending on your GATE score and percentage of marks you have obtained in the B.Tech course, one of the colleges mentioned below would give you admission for 2 years long M.Tech in Aeronautics.
