Details regarding IES(Indian Engineering services) Conducted by UPSC :-

Citizenship - Indian .

Educational qualification :-
-->>You should be passed out in 4 years Bachelor degree from recognized university.

Age :-

Details on IES Exam


The Indian Engineering Services (IES) Exam is conducted every year by the UPSC for the elite government jobs for engineers..

A candidate can appear for the IES only if :-

>> The candidate is within the age limit of 21-30 years..3 years and 5 years of age relaxation of OBC and SC/ST respectively..

>> Candidate must have completed either B.E/B.Tech in any one of the following streams :-

> Electrical Engineering
> Electronics and Communications Engineering
> Civil Engineering
> Mechanical Engineering


There will be 2 rounds in the written exam :-

>> 2 objective papers
>> 2 conventional papers


The exams shall be distributed over a span of 3 days..

IES stand for the Indian Engineering Services. The IES examination is conducted by the UPSC once in every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

If you are interested in the IES examination then to appear in the IES entrance examination you need the following eligibility criteria :

Eligibility Criteria for IES Examination.
--> Pass the degree in the engineering field with electronics, electrical, mechanical, Civil branch. Final year candidate can also apply.
--> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. The upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category.

Note :- The Computer Science and Information Technology branch is not eligible to apply for the IES entrance examination.

So, these are the basic eligibility criteria for the IES entrance examination. If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you are eligible to apply for the IES examination.

Age Criteria:

The candidate should be between 21 to 30 years as on the August 1 of the examination year.

Complete details about IES exam-

Age limits: 21-30 years on 1st August of the year of Examination. (Upper age limit relax able for SCs/Sts, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).

Educational Qualifications: Candidate with engineering degree in other branches are free to take IAS exam.

Fee: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only)

IES examination Syllabus for Civil Engineering-CE, Electrical Engineering-EE. , Electronics & Communication Engineering-ECE., Mechanical Engineering-ME.


UPSC -IES SYLLABUS -GENERAL ABILITY

Part A : General English. The question paper in General English will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of English and workmanlike use of words.

IES is conducted by UPSC every Year for the good job for the post of Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY for IES:

=> A candidate must have completed their B.E in one of Following branch:

> Mechanical Engineering

> Civil Engineering

> Electrical Engineering

> Electronicas and communication Engineering.

=> With atleast 60% from recognise Universities.
=> Age limit between 21-30 years for General category.
relaxation availablle for OBC +3 years and for SC/ST +5 years upper age.
=> citizenship of India.

AS you are interested for IES exam , The eligibility criteria for IES exam are as follows......

>> A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, of the current year.


The upper age-limit prescribed above will be further relaxable—

(i) Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe;

(ii) Upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.


>>Minimum Educational Qualification:

For admission to the examination, a candidate must have—

(a) obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or

(b) passed Section A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or

(c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or

(d) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or

(e) passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or

IES - INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE, the exam for which is conducted nationallyby UPSC once every year for recruitment of young Engineers in the top technical post under various Central Govt. Dept. such as Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunications Dept.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National.
He should have either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University.
He should be within the age of 21to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years.

The candidate from any stream can apply for IES but he has to write IES in any one of the stream from Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunications branch.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal interview.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services Examinatin which is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the various engineering posts vaccant in the central government deparments. The profit as you have asked would be that you will get well paid government job. As you may know that government jobs are more secure then the private sector job. This is the main advantage of appearing for IES exam.

Those who have completed Engineering is one of the following streams are eligible to appear for IES entrance exam.

Civil Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Mechanical engineering.

Electronics and Communication Engineering.

There are wide range of jobs available in government departments after completing the IES exam. However these are not PSU jobs which people often refers them to be. These are for various government departments. For example, an Mechanical Engineering can appear for IES exam and get job in following departments:

Indian Railway Service of Engineers.

Central Engineering Service.

Indian Defence Service of Engineers (Civil Engineering Posts).

Indian Ordance Factories Services etc



Eligibility:

The candidate should be citizen of India

Age Criteria:

The candidate should be between 21 to 30 years as on the August 1 of the examination year.

There is some relaxation in upper age for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC as per the central government rules.

Education:

You must have B.Tech degree in stream like Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Candidates who are in final year of graduation course can also apply for the exam.

There would be 2 papers in the IES exam. Paper 1 would be objective while paper 2 would be conventional. The written test would be conducted in two stages, Paper 1 would include general ability and two others papers related to Engineering subject of the candidate. Similarly paper 2 would have 2 written exams both related to Engineering subjects of the candidate.
