State Bank of India has already opened online registration process for clerk jobs. The number of vacancies at the moment is 7740. Not much time is left to complete the online registration process. But before that it is also very important for you to know about the basic eligibility criteria of this SBI Clerk Exam.

SBI Clerk Exam Details:

~The educational qualification required for this post is exactly 60 percent of marks or more than that at 10+2 level. For the reserved category the percentage to secure is 55 percent of marks.

~If you are a bachelor degree holder in any discipline then also you can apply for this examination. In that case though you have to just manage to get the pass marks somehow as they have not mentioned any exact percentage of marks to attain to qualify for this exam.

~As far as age criteria is concerned while applying for this exam your age should not be less than 18 years. The upper age limit for the general category is 28 years. There is however age relaxation for the reserved categories. It is 5 years for the SC/ST candidates and 3 years for the OBC candidates. The physically handicapped candidates will get an age relaxation of 10 years.

~One thing should be remembered that if you opt for age relaxation then during the personal interview session you have to produce authentic certificates to support your cause and on failing to do you will be considered ineligible.

~The selection process is basically based on the written examination and personal interview session. Based on the marks you get you will be called for the interview. The more marks you secure, better will be your chances of making it to the interview session. A maximum of 3 is generally called for a single post. Whether you will get a call or not also depends on the number of vacancies available.

~For the SBI Written Exam you have to cover the following sections:

1. General English
2. General Knowledge
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4. Reasoning Ability
5. Marketing Aptitude/ Computer Knowledge

~For the exam you will get only 140 minutes and you have to try and answer as many questions possible in this short span of time. Do not rely too much on wild guess as for every wrong answer you have to pay a penalty of 0.25 marks.

~The minimum qualifying marks for this exam is 40 percent and you have to get this marks to be considered for the interview session.

~Cost of the application fee for the general category and OBC category is Rs. 350 and for the SC/ST candidates and persons with disabilities it is Rs. 50. You can pay the fee either in online or offline mode. If you opt for online mode then you can pay through credit or debit cards and on opting for the latter you have to go to any of the SBI bank and pay the amount.
