Any post graduate can apply for this test. This is provided they have pursued this course from a recognised institute. Also they need to select the stream based on the area of specialisation in post graduation. So in your case you need to select the optional subject as literature. You can appear for this test since you are in the final year. It is not compulsory to take this exam to join for the PH.d course. You will need to appear for the entrance exam based on the institute you plan to join. By clearing the NET exam you can find a job as a lecturer in any of the colleges.

what is the syllabus of net in education? which topics are included in paper 2 and paper 3? is there any book available as per new pattern for paper 3?

NET stand for National Eligibility Test . NET Exam is conducted by UGC (University grant commission) & held twicw in a Year generally in the months of June and December.

-NET exam is conduct to recruit candidate for lecturer post.



Eligibility Conditions for NET Exam:
--------------------------------------

  • You must have completed Mater degree(post graduation) in any steam from recognized Institute/University.
  • You must pass your Master's degree with minimum of 55% marks(50% for ST/SC/PH/Females.)
  • Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for this Exam on provisional basis.
  • Your Age should not be greater than 28 year & 5years relaxation given for OBS/ST/SC/PH/Female.



Application Procedure for NET Exam:
---------------------------------------


-You have to apply online before the specific date announced by UGC through this link- http://ugcnetonline.in/.

-Two print-outs of filled in online application form,exam attendance slip and admission card at the respective centers (with fee receipt and category certificates) & documents are required for applying to this exam.

-FEE will be of 450rs/- for General and 110 rs/- for SC/ST. You have to pay this through SBI Challan form Via Online generated during application process..
