Tips to Prepare:
  • There is no definite syllabus to follow for the SBI Clerk Exam. Therefore right from the beginning itself it is very important to follow the old SBI clerk papers thoroughly to get the hang of it.
  • For the reasoning section you can expect questions from the following sections: Coding, Decoding, Puzzles, Blood Relation, Sequence, Series, Arrangements and so on. For this section R.S.Agarwal's book is the best and simply unputdownable. This needs to be practiced regularly.
  • The section general awareness basically deals with current affairs, general knowledge and will test your awareness about important events. For this you can resort to books like Manorama year books where the important events of the last few months are shortlisted. Even online you will get lots of sites where you can study about the current events for competitive exams. They also proves to be very helpful.
  • Quantitative Aptitude is nothing but basic numericals of elementary standards. This section therefore needs to be practiced daily as otherwise you will forget the types easily. It is not that tough. Just regularity needs to be maintained. For this section you need to stress on the following areas: time and work, time and distance, average, percentage, decimals, ratio and proportion, simplifications, square roots etc.
  • Marketing and computer knowledge is a must for students applying for clerical jobs because these days business success depends a lot on promotional skills and strategies applied effectively. A host of Arihant Publication's books are available in the market to help your cause.

Here i have shortlisted the name of some books which you may find useful when preparing for this exam. Please go through the list once:
