Hi friend,

M.SC(IT) is indeed a good option. After M.SC(IT) you will get job opportunity in giant IT companies.

Some of these giant IT companies are:-

-TCS

-INFOSYS

-TECH MAHINDRA

-PATNI COMPUTERS

-SYNTEL

-MPHASIS

-IGATE

-HCL

-CYBASE

These are some of the giant companies , where you can get job after M.SC(IT). Each year , they recruit M.SC(IT) people from good colleges.

Payscale:-

Payscale varies from company to company , but , you will get 3.0L P.A. average salary.

You can definitely do PH.D after M.SC(IT). If your intention is to go to research side then it is indeed a good option.you must go ahead, if you are really interested.

For any other query, do post here.

best of luck

MCA is a good choice for you because you want to make career in software development field.

Because you are intersted in the IT field then you should prefer MCA.However
Msc is also a good option but it goes to the research field. But you want to prefer Software field. Then MCA is the good option for you.

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi publishes the Admission Brochures for making admission through Common Entrance Tests (CET) for the specific Academic Session.

Now look at the MCA eligibility criteria

Both Master in Computer Applications (MCA) and M.Sc in Computer Science are good courses if you are looking to pursue career in IT industry. However if software is your primary interest than I would recommend you to pursue MCA course.

There is more scope in the field of software for MCA candidate. M.Sc computer Science has its own advantages however they count little for the software industry. Once you have completed the M.Sc Computer Science course, you can apply for jobs in the following fields:

Artificial Intelligence

Wireless Communication

information security

VSLI/Embedded Systems

Robotics

On the other hand if want to make career in software industry then Master of Computer Applications is the must course for you. MCA course would make you expert in the following fields:

Programming Languages

Application Software

Networking

System Management

Hardware Technology

Logic Designer

Software development and programming languages is part of MCA course. Therefore my recommendation is go for the MCA course and make a career in software field. In any case the requirement of MCA candidates in India is much higher than for M.Sc Computer Science.

MCA Eligibility

1. You should have Maths as one of the subjects in Plus 2.

2. Must complete graduation course in any stream.

3. You Should score at least 50-60 percent marks in graduation.

If you meet these requirements then you are eligible for the MCA course. Several universities conducts entrance exams for the MCA course.
