To become a teacher in any Government School, candidate has to appear for Teacher Eligibility Test-TET. To be eligible for the TET candidate must have completed the Bachelors degree program with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized University along with either completed or appearing in the Bachelor of Education [B.Ed]Program. In case of pursuing or completed B.Ed from NCTE approved University candidate needs to have scored 45% in the Bachelors Degree program.
Candidate who qualifies TET, are eligible to teach at primary and Elementary level. And in order to be considered for the position of teacher in this levels one must have attained the age of 20 years and must not be over 27 years. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Sc/St category is 32 years and for OBC category it is 30 years.
