Hi friends..

Minimum and Maximum Age limit for IAS,IPS

IAS -Stands for Indian Administrative Service.

IPS-stands for Indian Police service

Age limit for both are : 21-30 years for general candidates
21-35 for sc nad st candidates
21-33 for OBC candiadtes

Educational qualification : must have Graduation form any recognized University
from any discipline.
Attempts: 4 attempts for General
7 attempts for OBc
Nolimit for sc,st's

UPSC conducted exams for this posts

For applying these posts you must have graduation


And your Age Limit:

General category student:- 21-30 years.

OBC relaxation in upper age +3 years.

SC/ST relaxation in upper age +5 years.

For PHC candidates 10 years relaxation.

IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Service and IPS Stands for Indian Police Service. This both the exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year under the CSE - Civil Service Examination........

A candidate who have completed their Graduation Degree in any field from any Recognized Universities can apply for this exam. While Pursuing Final year o Graduation also applicable....


Age Criteria:-


1. Minimum Age of candidate should be at least 21 years.

2. Maximum age should not exist 30 years.

3. Relaxation for OBC category +3 years on upper age.

4. For SC/ST +5 years on upper age.

Age limit IPS-

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.


Age Limit IAS-

A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2013

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:

(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

(iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989.

(iv) upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof:

(v) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2006 and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st August, 2006) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or (iii) on invalidment.

(vi) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2006 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

(vii) upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons.

ias(indian administrative service),ips(indian police service) exams are conducted by the upsc once in a year.
eligibility criteria:
1.candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.
2.age limit is 21 years to 30 years.

IAS (Indian Administrative Service)and IPS (Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by the UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION) once in a year.

Eligibility criteria:
The candidate should be complete graduation from any recognised university in any stream.

The candidate must be a citizen of india.

Final year candidates are also eligible.


Age limits is 21years to 30years, 3years age relaxation for the OBC candidates and 5years age relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.

Selection procedure:

Preliminary exam,

IAS/IPS - INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE/INDIAN POLICE SERVICE , to become an IAS/IPS officer one has to appear and crack the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised university is eligible to apply for Civil Service exam.

MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AGE FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM:-

For General Category candidate- 21 to 30 years
For SC/ST/PH categry candidate -21 to 35 years
For OBC category candidate - 21 to 33 years of age.

The selection is through three phases:-
