Postal Assistant Exam Details:-

## Postal Assistant Exam is conducted by the Department of Postal Govt. of India. Whenever there is a vacancy for this post the postal departments publishes notifications and asks the interested candidates to submit their applications. The deserving ones are selected through a recruitment examination. This exam is conducted almost every year.

## To give this exam you need to be a higher secondary passed out candidate with not less than 60 percent of marks at 10+2 level. There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

## For the OBC candidates the marks to secure at 10+2 level is 50% in aggregate while the SC/ST candidates needs to secure only 45% of marks to sit for the exam.

## Your age should not be less than 18 years when applying for this exam since this is the lower age limit for giving this exam. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 27 years.

## Another important criteria which is also considered is whether you know the local language of the State of the concerned postal circle or not. This is quite important because then you can smoothly communicate with the residents of the postal circle in question.

## It would do if you have studied hindi at matriculation level or above and therefore you are quite well versed in this language. Since this is the official language of our country so you can use this as the common medium of communication.

## The total time allotted for the exam is two and a half hours and within this limited time span you need to answer as many as 200 questions which will be mostly objective type and therefore conceptual. So you should answer them very alertly.

## In addition to the above mentioned computer test you will have to sit for a computer test or typing test as well. The duration of this exam is not going to be more than 30 minutes and it is important to score well in this exam too.

## The aptitude test is the most important of all since they gives 50% of weightage to that. Your 10+2 level result comes second as it gets 40% of weightage and lastly the computer test will get 10% weightage roughly.

## For general category candidates the cost of the application form is Rs. 100 and you will get the forms from the head post office and other post offices in the concerned postal circle.
