Re: Income tax officer's exam after engineering? Dear aspirant, You can become an income tax officer through SSC exam. SSC CGL is the exam that you have to appear. Pattern of Exam: Tier I (200 marks – duration 2 hours) (a) General Intelligence & Reasoning - 50 marks (b) Gen.Awareness - 50marks (c) Quantitative Aptitude – 50 marks (d) English Comprehension – 50 marks Tier II (400 marks) (I) Quantitative Abilities – 200 marks (100 Questions) – 2 hours (II) English Language & Comprehension – 200 marks. The best recommended books for SSC are as follows: (a) General Intelligence & Reasoning - 50 marks- S chand (b) Gen.Awareness - 50marks- Arihant GK, Upkar publication, pratiyogita darpan, curren t affairs of mahendra publication (c) Quantitative Aptitude – 50 marks - S chand, RS Agarwal, Dinesh Khattar (d) English Comprehension – 50 marks- Objective english by Bakshi, Arihant publication, Upkar publication. Total cut off: General: around 340 OBC: around 320 SC/ST: around 290 Tier 1 cut off : General: around 80 OBC: around 70 SC/ST:around 60 Believe you can and you will on the half way. This exam is conducted by the SSC once a year.MInimum qualification required for this exam is graduation. ELIGIBILITY: Candidate should complete graduation or equivalent course from a recognized university Age limit for this exam 21-30 years Candidate should be a citizen of india Application process through online only. Eligibility criteria: The candidate should be complete any graduation from a recognised university. Candidate must be a citizen of india. Final year candidate are also eligible. Government of India,Income Tax Department recruits graduate candidates to several sections like: i. Inspector of Income Tax ii.Tax Assistant etc... Government of India,Income Tax Department recruits graduate candidates to several sections like: i. Inspector of Income Tax ii.Tax Assistant iii.Peon etc.. For the first two posts candidates must have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. To apply you have to send application in a prescribed format which you can get from the education department in the public sector office and then send the application to : The Additional Commissioner of Income-Tax(HQ) Personnel, Room No-83, Aaykar Bhavan, M.K.
