Re: Tips to prepare for Civil Services Preliminary Examination Hello friend, Since we all know that the preliminary exam will be replaced by Civil Service Aptitude Test, it will be totally different from the usual preliminary exam. The aptitude test is designed to check the candidates Intelligence, Reasoning sense, Argumentative capacity, Aesthetic sense, Analytical ability and command over a language. Basically, an aptitude test is divided into two parts. Speed Test Power Test Speed test is designed to check how fast you can solve problems. The questions in this segment are very straight and bit simple and is meant to test your speed. whereas, the questions in the power test are difficult and related to a particular job and requires enough knowledge of the same. The syllabus of the examination will be as follows carrying 200 marks each. Paper 1 Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian national movement Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change General science. Paper 2 Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level) English language comprehension skills (Class X level) |
