Re: Is MSc IT student applicable for PG teacher post?

Hi friend,

Yes you are applicable for the PG teacher. You completed M.sc. IT.
So you are eligible for the Lectureship.
M.sc. IT subjects are Computer science and Applications.
You are asking for the Lectureship. So you need to apply for the exam of NET. NET stands for National Eligibility Test.

So you off follow the below criteria

Candidate should complete the post graduation.

You need to score minimum of 55% of marks in post graduation.

Relaxation is applicable for other categories.

No upper age limit for the Candidate Lectureship.

ALL THE BEST.

I believe you are referring to the lectureship. As a Master of Science graduate, you are eligible for National Eligibility Test. Only after passing the NET exam you will be able to apply for the lectureship in central government colleges.

You can either appear for NET exam in June or December. The next exam would be in December 2012 for which notification is expected by the end of October. Once University Grants Commission releases the notification you will be able to apply for the National Eligibility Test.

Now coming to your question, since you have completed M.Sc in IT your subject for the NET exam would be Computer Science and Applications. This subject is also valid for candidates who have completed M.Sc in Computer Science and Master of Computer Applications.

Please check the criteria below before applying for the National Eligibility Test. Make sure you are meeting all the requirements.

Eligibility

1. You must be citizen of India.

2. Post graduation degree in any stream from a UGC recognized university.

3. You need minimum of 55 percent marks to appear for NET.

4. SC/ST candidates need 50 percent marks.

5. Final year students can also apply for NET.

6. Your subject for NET would be Computer Science and Applications.

Age Criteria

If applying for Junior Research Fellowship:

General - 28 years

OBC - 31 years

SC/ST - 33 years

There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.
