Dear friends,

No you are not eligible for LLB course at the age of 45. My friend if you were really interested in LLB then you should have made the call earlier. Now is too later to pursue LLB course.

There are two types of law course, BA LLB (5 years) and LLB (3 years). There is no difference between the two courses neither any degree has more merit over the others. The difference is duration, BA LLB is 5 years long which LLB is only 3 years long.

Actually there is no age required for LLB course

There are two types of LLB course
LL.B. ( Five years Course )
LL.B. (Three Years Course )

Eligibility Criteria for LLB Course :-

LL.B. ( Five years Course ) -
Students who have passed 12th standard examination with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

LL.B. (Three Years Course ) -

graduate or post graduates in any faculty with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
for SC/ST candidates, minimum percentage of marks will be 40%.

Re: Am I eligible to join Law course at an age of 45 years?

Law Degree can be taken in two ways:-

Five years Integrated LL.B. after 12th in any stream with 50% marks from a recognised Board within the age of 20 years.

AND

Three years LL.B after completion of Graduation in any stream with at least 40% marks from a recognised University within the age of 30 years.

So at the age of 45 years, you are not eligible to apply for any LL.B. Degree as youare over age.

The reason is that BA LLB includes a bachelor course, thus it can be taken after completing 12th. While for LLB course, you will first have to complete a Bachelor course. Going after BA LLB after 12th would save your one year.

Unfortunately you will not meet the age requirement of any of the two courses. The age requirement were recently changed by the Bar Council of India to ensure that only candidates who choose Law as their first career choice should have advantage.

Eligibility BA LLB

1. You must have completed 12th standard from a recongized board.

2. At least 50 percent marks in 12th board

3. SC/ST candidates need 45 percent marks.

4. You must have completed 12th to appear in the BA LLB entrance exam.

5. Age limit is 20 years.

6. For SC/ST age limit is 22 years.

Eligibility LLB

1. A graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.

2. At least 45 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST candidates must secure at least 40 percent marks.

4. The age limit for LLB is 30 years.

5. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.
