GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This exam is jointly conducted by the ndian Institute of Science and all the IITs in India. If you are seeking admission to post graduation programmes in engineering or technology or architecture or pharmacy then you can sit for this exam. Apart from students who has done their bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, students with post graduation in few subjects can also sit for this exam.


GATE Eligibility Criteria:

~You can sit for this exam if you have the following degrees:

## Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or architecture. The duration of the course should be four years. Final year students can also give this exam.

(OR)

## Post graduation in any one of the following subject:

1. Science
2. Mathematics
3. Statistics
4. Computer Applications

## If you are doing a five integrated post graduation programme in engineering or technology then in the fourth year you can sit for this exam.

~You can give this exam for as many times you want and there is no restriction on the age limit as well.

~Generally for the exam you will have to face multiple choice questions and you need to complete the whole paper in three hours' time. A maximum of sixty five questions will be asked and the total marks alloted wont exceed hundred marks. You need to answer cautiously because there will be negative marking.

~The GATE forms will be available from the first week of October and a good thing about this exam is that if you are able to successfully crack this one then you will get a scholarship amount of Rs. 8000 per month from the goverment which will be enough to sustain you for a month.

~The validity of the GATE score is not more than two years and since most candidates targets the IITs therefore let me tell you that you have to get minimum 95 percentile or above to book a seat over there.

GATE examination is conducted by the management of IIT college for the admission in the M.Tech course in maximum no of colleges.

If you have Bachelor degree in engineering/Technology/Architecture OR
Master degree holder in any branch of science/mathematics/statics/computer application then you are applicable for GATE Exam.

The final year student are eligible to apply for GATE examination.There are no age limit and no. of attempt in the GATE examination.
