Re: Should I choose MCA or MSc IT? I have completed my BCA

Look... you are eligible for both the courses !!!!

So..... you can opt for any of them.... there is no such compulsion regarding opting for any particular stream !!!!!

All the streams that you have mentioned are related to the field of your graduation.......
Hence it will be quite easier for you to cope up with the subjects in all the above mentioned streams

Now if you ask about career prospects, then obviously I will say MCA i.e. Master of Computer Application has much more career prospects than all others mentioned here !!!!

*On Doing a M.Sc you will get a teaching job in the schools and colleges ...... which is quite a good job
If you are interested in Teaching profession you may go for it !!!

**M.Tech IS NOT MEANT FOR YOU !!!
M./Tech is a gradation course meant for the B.Tech students that is the engineering graduates ...and you are B.Sc student !!! So you are not eligible for it !!!!

***you can go for MCA !!!! that will be the best option for you!!!!
You have to sit for MCA entrance exam and crack it to get your seat in colleges offering MCA

~~On completion of MCA you will get jobs in the top IT firms like

WIPRO
HP
ASTRA MICROWAVE PRODUCTS LTD
KOGEN-X PVT LTD
TECH MAHINDRA
21 CENTURY WEB
INFOTECH SOLUTIONS
ACCENTURE
INFOSYS
CTS
SUN MICRO SYSTEMS
SYNGENTA INDIA LTD
KREETI TECH
SYNTEL
Game loft
Satyam Computers
SilverTouch Technologies Limited

you will get pretty god salary with all other necessary incentives !!!! your working environment will also be good !!!
if you perform well....you will get quick promotions leading to hike in salary!!!!
So you can go for MCA without much hesitation!!!

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Should I choose MCA or MSc IT? I have completed my BCA

Dear Friend,

* BCA Stands for " Bachelor Of Computer Applications ".

As you have completed your BCA , then i would suggest you to choose MCA instead of MSc IT because as you have a bachelors degree in Computer applications , you have the complete knowledge regarding the computer applications , so it will be better to have Masters degree in exactly the same field.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: Should I choose MCA or MSc IT? I have completed my BCA

I will recommend MCA over MSc IT. If you want to do Master of Science course then choose Computer Science instead of IT. If you have done BCA then the obvious choice is to continue with MCA rather than changing the stream which you may find difficult. However it depends a lot on your interest in the field. Your decision should be based on the following points:

M.Sc IT course is related to operating system, data structure, database application. On the other hand Master of Computer Application course is more inclined towards:

Programming Languages

Application Software

Networking

System Management

Hardware Technology

Logic Designing

If you are interested in software and computer application related job then MCA is the way forward for you. On the other hand if database operations is your strong point that go for the MSc in IT.

To me, MCA offers more opportunities in comparison to MSc IT. Please go for the MCA course.

Eligibility

1. A graduation degree from a recognized university.

2. At least 50-60 percent marks.

3. Maths should one of subjects in 10+2.

If you meet this criteria then apply for a MCA entrance exam for admission. If scored minimum of 60 percent marks in MCA, then you will be able to apply for job in companies like:

Infosys

Microsoft

IBM

Accenture

TCS

Wipro

Tech Mahindra

Re: Should I choose MCA or MSc IT? I have completed my BCA

Hi dear,
i would suggest you to go for MCA For further studies as you have completed your Bachelor in Computer Application so after that you should go for Masters in Application . MCA gives better opportunities in IT SECTORS , MNC, BPO SECTORS.
As you have mentioned about financial crisis .
So for that you can opt for distance learning , it will save both time & money in mean while you can do job also while you are learning.
There are many distance learning centers now a days but well kown UNIVERSITIES across nation wide is IGNOU .
So i will advice to join IGNOU .
IGNOU many open doors for thier students.
So Wishing you GOOD LUCK . .!!!

Re: Should I choose MCA or MSc IT? I have completed my BCA

MCA degree will be much better than M.Sc IT. The course is equivalent to engineering degree and has enough scope when compared to the later. Course contents of both the courses some-what equal. Admission to both the courses is offered on the basis of entrance exams. For MCA you can either attend national level entrance exams like AIMCET or state conducted entrance tests.
