NDA- The NDA Entrance Exams are conducted two times in a year in the months of April and August. The exams are held for two academies, Naval Academy and National Defense Academy. Important Dates- Last date of receiving applications (NDA Exam I) – 21st of January 2013 Last date of receiving applications (NDA Exam II) – 3rd day of June 2013 Date of exams being conducted (NDA Exam I) – 7th April, 2013 Date of exams being conducted (NDA Exam II) – 11th August, 2013 Criteria for Eligibility Education criteria- The candidate must have completed (10+2) from a government recognized institution. 1.National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of School Education conducted by a State Education Board or a University. 2. Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University. 3. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination. There are basically two modes through which once can join Indian Army as an officer: Through NDA Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission Technical Entrance Scheme In order to join Indian Army through NDA Examination, you must have passed higher secondary examination from a recognized board and must be within the age limit of 16.5 to 19 years. In order to join through the Technical Entry Scheme, you must have passed higher secondary examination with a minimum of 70% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. As far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 16.5 years and the maximum age limit is 19.5 years. Candidates applying for the NDA Examination need to go through written examination whereas, those applying through the Technical Entry Scheme needs to appear for an interview instead of written examination. The application procedure for both modes, i.e. NDA Examination as well as Technical Entrance Scheme, is carried out twice a year. |

You can also apply for N.D.A. and C.D.S.(Common Defense Services). There generally two examination are held for N.D.A., one is N.D.A.-1 and another is N.D.A.-2.You can also attempt both this two exam. Dear aspirant, -You can join Army after completing you 10+2 through NDA exam. -The age limit for NDA exam is 16 1/2 to 19 years and one should be unmarried male for this exam. -You can also join Army after completing your graduation through CDS examination. -You are eligible for Indian Army but your age should be as per the limits of these exams. -Your medical fitness must be according to the Indian Army otherwise you will not be allowed to join Army . -So start preparing for the objective type paper which will have questions from maths , general intelligence etc. You should be well prepared if you want to get shortlisted for the SSB interview. Re: How to join Indian Army after passing 12th standard? HI, National Defense Academy (NDA) allows only male candidates to apply for the NDA entrance exam. Candidates who desire to join the Army wing of the NDA must have a pass in class 12 or its equal from any subject stream. The certification must be from a recognized board or university. Those who aspire to join the Naval Wing and the Air Force must have a pass in class 12 in science. Candidates who are going to appear for the class 12 or its equal exam are also suitable to submit an application for this exam. As to get admitted into the Naval Academy and National Defense Academy, the candidates also need to pass in the physical fitness test, as part of the selection process. NDA Entrance Exam The selection of the candidates into the Air Force, Naval and Army wings of the NFA will be done through the NDA Examination. This exam will be carried out by the Union Public Service Commission. Age Qualification Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must be unmarried males. They must be atleast 16 1/2 years and not more than 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam. application procedure Candidates who are permanent citizens of India can apply for the NDA exam. Candidates whose family was a part of Bhutan, Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India prior to January 1st 1962 with the objective of residing permanently in India are also eligible to apply for the NDA exam. Those candidates who have their origin from India but have migrated from neighboring countries of India as well as from East African nations that include United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya and have the intention of settling permanently in India are eligible to apply too. These candidates are required to have a certification of eligibility from the Indian Government. However, candidates who are from the Gorkha category of Nepal need not submit any certificates of eligibility. Eligibility for the Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO for NDA Entrance Exam Individuals who are citizens of foreign countries will not be considered eligible for writing the NDA entrance exam.
