Re: How to become an IPS officer after engineering completion? Yes. Of course you can appear for Indian Police Service(IPS). To join IPS one must clear the civil service examination organised by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC). The eligibility criteria for this exam is bachelors degree in any stream from any UGC recognised university. The age limit is 21-30 years and a relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST. So after completion of Engineering you can appear forcivil service exam to become an IPS officer. Best of luck. |

The examination is divided into two stages, the first stage of which is known as the Preliminary Exam and comprise of two compulsory papers. The second stage comprise of Main Exam and an Interview. Once you qualify your bachelors degree examination, you will have to look for the civil service exam notification. Once the notification is published, the application forms will be available at head post offices all over the country but it is advisable to apply online. The online application forms will be available at www.upsconline.nic.in. Complete procedure of online application will be provided on the website. The age limit to apply for the exam is 21-30 years. Candidates belonging to Sc/St category are eligible upto the age of 35 years and candidates belonging to OBC category are eligible upto 33 years. |
